Surface water flooding only road in/out Maunby, 26th October
As other drains are overflowing and the issue with the junction at Maunby Ln / Kirby Wiske a large volume of water is collacting at the junction of Green Lane / Maunby - we have two floods in the last 10 years and this is the only road in and out. Drains need replacing to deal with this volume of water. It’s only forecasted to get worst with global warming
This drain like others (shortly being reported) cannot cope with the surface water volume. The gully trap is too small and needs replaced. This gully is at the entrance to the village and our only road in and out. We have suffered 2 floods in the last 10 years locking access to and our the village
Please work collaboratively with the relevant agencies to rectify this situation.

Flood road due to drains and camber, 26th October
This was previously reported as the road floods due to the incorrect camber of the junction. The drain is now overflowing and sending volumes of water down to the green lane jct which is overwhelming the drains. The quick fix was a channel back to the drain but surprisingly it has now failed.

Overhanging dangerous tree on public highway, 21st October
At the location on map in Maunby, near Thirsk, the trees are on the roadside and are severely overhanging a public highway. In a recent storm a large limb of the tree has snapped off and landed in a nearby field. One would assume by this that the trees are in a dangerous condition and if this limb which has snapped off had landed in the public highway, it could have caused severe damage or even loss of life. They need to be checked and necessary remedial work carried out.
