Road is not fully tarmaced and has regular potholes, with road turning to grass and mud in areas. The odd pothole gets fixed but they just return and the road is uneven and undulating. Heavy farm and plant vehicles use the riad regularly to Larch Farm. This was probably not the case in the past. It is an eyesore and not suitable for most cars or people!, 10th November

Measures to slow traffic inadequate, 25th September
Turning right on this junction towards Thornton Bridge is very dangerous as traffic approaching the junction at speed leave you very little time to see them approaching as they become visible at the crest of the hill. There is a "Slow" instruction on the but this is worn our and seems to be ignored. Please can you investigate this issue and consider measures that would make this junction safer.

Numerous potholes between Brafferton and Boroughbridge, 23rd March
The road from Brafferton to Boroughbridge, particularly the Brafferton end is in a dreadful condition with poor road surface and a lot of potholes. Also school terrace in Brafferton is beginning to have a number of potholes. These holes have been here for at least two months.

Serious potential FLOOD DANGER - Reported yesterday, 20th January
The last Flood 4 or 5 weeks ago a car got stranded in the middle of the road ( over the white line ) with HGV's still driving through but had to go on the Grass Verge causing deep Ruts.... if they do it again in this new Flood & drive any more sideways onto the Verge - the Vehicle will OVERTURN down the embankment into 12 ft deep FLOODWATER....URGENT Warning !!!

Potholes/Poor previous repair full length of vullage and round corner, 17th May
This is not so much a series of potholes but actually a poor repair/reinstatement from some utility works several years ago that has deteriorated badly by potholes appearing in the poor reinstatement. The area covers the whole of 'main st' all the way from the old school, round the corner onto Raskelf road to near the pub at the T junction. This has been reported before but ignored. This area is getting very bad for potholes and quite frankly looks like a loads of tanks has gone over it in a war zone. I would have thought that a simple look into the Streetworks Act permits issued/returned in the last few years would indicate the likely suspects for very poor workmanship and it's early failure.

Pot holes all over, 12th December
These pot holes have been here for months the road that leads from Raskelf to helperby had been 're surfaced not so long ago and they still left this part into the village of helperby it has been a bad road for years and still never gets sorted

Extremely poor surface full length of main street and round the bend towards the pub, this is mainly where the road has previously been cut for a service, it is breaking up at either side of the previous service cut. It looks like the road has been ploughed

Road surface disintegrating, 27th February
The whole length of this road is falling apart, past patches have fallen apart and the potholes have grown far larger. Residents are having to perform their own repairs.

Untaxed motor vehicle, 2nd December
This motor has had no tax or mot for a year and is used daily.i believe that the owner is over the limit to drive on weekend mornings . Shaking house with passing heavy traffic, 16th September
This summer, the problem has now returned, and it feels even worse. I'm not sure whether it's down to speed of vehicles coming into the village, from the Thornton Bridge direction, or just sheer weight. I haven't seen any structural issues with the house, e.g. no cracks appearing, but surely the shaking can't be good?! The house is a three floor property, with my 'home office' at the top

A 0.5m long section of a reinstated utility trench in the middle of the junction between Raskelf Road, Main Street Helperby, Hall Lane and Bridge Street, is breaking up and requires reinstatement before it becomes any larger and / or a road user comes to grief as a result
