Appalling 'new' road layout-a dangerous waste of money, 15th March

Wed, 15 Mar 2023 14:17:14 +0000
54.072165 -0.917642

Th e'new' raod layour for traffic crossing the A64 is incredibly dangerous. Crossing form the Slingsby side, any traffic on the A64 going towards Malton is hidden form view by traffic turning off towards Slingsby. Also traffic from Malton tuning off towards Slingsby must directky pass traffic on the Eastbound A64 AND the traffic from Slingsby tuning westwards on the A64 when traffic coming from thois direction is intent on looking right NOT left. A very dangerous combination & unforgiveable on a recent 'upgrade' costing many ,illions.

Parking too close to a blind junction, 7th December

Tue, 07 Dec 2021 20:55:30 +0000
54.060952 -0.910971

The vehicle's at Prospect Farm Park multiple cars over this blind cross roads, residents of the village complain on a regular base and I understand it has been reported on this site a few times and no action has been taken. It's dangerous and unsafe, they have lots of room to park behind there house but choose not to. Don't act after it's too late. Blind junction with cars parked making visibility suicidal.

Recurring deep standing water on the corner of the road as you leave Harton towards Bossall on Main Street., 17th January

Sun, 17 Jan 2021 19:35:05 +0000
54.047836 -0.920338

This is a recurring problem for many years. Following wet weather the water soon builds up and results in deep water standing on this sharp corner. This results in cars taking the corner wide and running onto the verge. It freezes badly in winter too. Workmen did have a vehicle presumably to try to clean it out on 4th January, sadly their efforts don’t seem to have rectified the problem. I hope a solution can be found. Many thanks.

Vehicles Park too close to a blind crossroads., 28th February

Tue, 28 Feb 2017 07:22:07 +0000
54.060822 -0.911188

For many months now the residents of Prospect Farm at Barton Le Willows have been parking there vehicles next and on a busy, blind crossroads which has caused in many near misses. The residents have a big yard at the rear of the house where they could park there vehicles but choose not to. The highway code states that you can park opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space. The residents are not following any of these rules and it will end in an accident if nothing is done about it.

Rubbish surrounding bus stop, 18th February

Sat, 18 Feb 2017 09:22:21 +0000
54.071997 -0.916882

The bus stop at Barton hill crossroads (westbound lane) was damaged over a year ago. Although repaired months later no effort was made to remove the mess caused by the damage and another year on the bus stop is still surrounded by broken glass and what appears to be the remains of an old damaged steel panel. In addition to this the verges near the bus stop are collecting litter at an alarming rate including beer cans and other debris. The whole area is unkempt and not only is it an eyesore it is also potentially dangerous to people using the footpath and bus stop.
