Joining road to industrial estate from Becklands Close is sinking around the drain area, 11th March
The joining road onto the becklands close to industrial area dropped, sunk in places and damaged. The area around where the rain water drain is located has cracked, is sinking and moving very easily whilst stepping near it and the ground around the drain has broken into several pieces. This is probably due to the amount of lorries backing up and accessing this area. This causes vehicles to drop down between the joining road and Becklands close. The issue has been present around 6 months but in the last few weeks has become worse. This was also reported as a H&S risk with near by businesses, however as these businesses do not have control of this area of the road, so they can not take any further action.

Badly damaged road YO51 9LN, 26th April
Roecliffe lane: the whole road s badly damaged with large deep holes on both sides. My car suspension is damaged as the area where I brake to turn in to Arrows Terrace, where I live, is so bad that it shakes the car. I am reluctant to get the car repaired if the damage is just going to happen again. When walking on the path you get showered with gravel from cars hitting the potholes. It is also very dangerous for bikes and is a main cycle route.

Rough road and potholes on majority of road, 24th June
Just moved here and didn't realize for such a short country-town road it has so much traffic, especially large/heavy vehicles like articulated lorries, farm vehicles, buses etc. I counted 97 vehicles in a 30min window one morning. 17 were large/heavy.
Besides the rough road being a general nuisance to drivers, the main issue for me living there is constant loud road noise with vehicles crashing over the rough parts, and worst of all my house vibrating many times a day. The noise is so bad i can't do conference calls with the windows open and can't enjoy time in the garden.
North Yorkshire council say the road doesn't meet the bar to repair it. But in my opinion, they don't sufficiently consider the other impacts as described above, which i did tell them about. They've said they'll send engineers out to check out the vibration, but i have low confidence that will have the desired outcome. Repair the road, or at least restrict the tonnage so big vehicles don't come crashing down the road. I was told if the latter doesn't work, I would need to rally local residents to make a larger formal complaint. Sigh. I shouldn't really have to.
