Overgrown tree branches, 9th December
At the end of the Queensway cul de sac are trees on council land. Some of the branches have become overgrown and are now pushing hard up against the telephone lines that supply number 2 & 3. In a high wind due to the stress on the telephone lines, the branches may cause damage to the lines. The branches need to be trimmed back and the stress on the telephone cables removed. One of the residents at number 2 is registered disabled and requires a working telephone line in case of emergency.

Overgrown hedges, 6th July
Along the service road and the pavement in Queens Estate there are a number of hedges that cover a lot of the pavement making it difficult to use a mobility scooter on the pavement. As the ground slopes away from the pavement quite steeply, if you go to wide to avoid the hedges, the mobility scooter could tipple and the rider.

And for the 3rd time...., 1st July
.....this year!
What follows is what can only be described as a wonderful example of wasting tax-payers money. At or about the beginning of this year this pothole opened up for the first time. I say opened up - it was more of a deflection on the surface. The surface sank but it was not a pothole as such - no edges to it. The first attempt at repairing it consisted of just dropping a bit of tarmac into the deflection - so it was obvious to anyone with a modicum of intelligence that they'd be back soon! Sure enough, the new surface just broke up so they came back and did exactly the same thing again. Guess what! That didn't work either so ten days ago they came back and repeated the process yet again! So now we await the fourth attempt to waste hard-earn't and valuable council revenue. I am thinking of making a freedom of information request to try and work out who is responsible for such incompetence. Is it the contractor or is the council? One thing is for sure - no one has made any attempt to specify a proper repair and then ensure it is adhered to. Perhaps the council's engineers just aren't up to it? Perhaps moving 30 mph signs twenty yards down the road is more within their capability?
Someone needs to get a grip on what the priorities should be for roads in this county.
