Blocked Box Junction, 5th February
During busy time of the day mainly rush hour morning & night the B4636 Newtown Road backs up through the tunnel extends back across the Newtown Rd/ Sherriff Street/ Williamson Rd junction. Drivers heading into Worcester ignore the cross hatch box junction markings meaning cars from Williamson Rd cannot cross or turn right and traffic from Sherriff Street cannot cross junction into Williamson Rd & people driving out of the tunnel cannot turn right into Williamson Rd. Please can Highways or the Police monitor this junction and issue people driving not in accordance with the highways code with warnings or tickets as the situation often leads to dangerous situations and drivers in the box junction not caring one bit due to ignorance of the rules. I have had near miss incidents on several occasions having to weave through cars blocking the junction.
