The tarmac at the edge of a drain cover has broken away leaving a pothole.
There has just been some Services Work carried out here and the coned area (now gone) caused vehicles to drive on this corner, causing it to break. It is a real shame that when someone filled in the large hole for the Services Work, they did not repair this damage.

A372 westbound approx 100 yards west of Lime Kiln public house. Tarmac surface has vanished, leaving large pothole approx 4 feet by 3 feet in line with nearside wheels. A clear road safety hazard, difficult to see in the dark and wet. Early repair will be appreciated. Unsafe for photos.

A372 eastbound at junction with Hermitage Road, Upton. Earlier repair has collapsed producing pothole one foot in diameter and expanding. A clear road safety hazard, particularly for two-wheeled vehicles especially in the dark and wet. Early repair will be appreciated.

Hello, There are 5 potholes situated nearby to a drain, which also has a pothole that is exposing the metal edge. Recent bad weather has caused potholes to get worse. They are in Long Sutton, Shute Lane. Near to the junction of Crouds Lane. Thanks

Tarmac broken away around drain cover on road., 6th November
I've noticed today (6th Nov) that the tarmac around one of the drains situation on the road between Long Furlong Lane and Burnt Tree Lane in Long Sutton, as broken away. I could not safely take a photo, but I have included the location of the 3 drains on that stretch of road.

Sunken dip appeared on service trench, 6th November
Within the last month a service trench was dug across the road. Since 5th November a sunken dip has appeared within the trench area. It is located on the main road just near Burnt Tree Lane.

Stop lines worn away, 2nd October
Stop lines worn away. Last week a 7.5 tonne lorry over shot the junction amd nearly hit myself and another car. Upon checking since I see the lunes ate worn away. And with the road opposite it looks like its a continuous road. Needs sorting ASAP and before the winter and decreased visibility.

Road repairs, 18th August
All the patches which were completed yesterday are not actually finished!!, They all need a liquid sealant to avoid water damage and traffic wear and tear. This used to be common practice!,! Why did it stop and it can’t be for economic reasons because revisiting the repairs must cost a lot more??. Yvonne Aitken,Long Sutton

Overgrown bushes affecting vision at junction, 19th June
When driving along the A372 eastward and waiting to turn right into Shute Lane, it is difficult to see vehicles coming along the A372 from the east and to know when it is save to turn.

Loose barbed wires from the fence near railway tracks, 31st March
The old fence with barbed wires near Ricksey lane and by the railway tracks, some of the barbed wires are loose which makes a gap. If someone might've go through it and fell on to the tracks and get killed by the train. It would be much better that the old wooden fence poles with barbed wires needs to be replaced with a more green railway fencing across from that existing railway fencing near that bridge and all away further somewhere near by the trees.

Unsafe stone wall overhanging pavement, 28th October
This stone wall has been gradually bowing outwards over the public highway (pavement) due to a large fir tree pushing at it. Recently many more cracks are showing and it feels dangerous to walk past. Concerned given that recently elsewhere a wall fell and killed a 12 year old. The property (Sutton Court) is currently being renovated so this is an opportune time for the owners to rectify but it is a highway safety matter so requires council intervention.

Impassable pavements, 6th October
Pavements on both sides of the road bridge crossing the railway are impassable to pedestrians due to weed growth. Weeds need to be dug up not cut back like they were the last time this was reported.

Severely eroded tarmac on Hermitage Road, Upton - opposite residence named Homeleigh and 50 yards north of the railway bridge. The damage poses a serious hazard to tyres and tracking when attempting to negotiate oncoming traffic in a narrow (almost single lane) road. There is similar erosion of the tarmac elsewhere in this vicinity.
