12 inch pothole near Wharf Cottages, 22nd April
A large pothole has formed on the left hand side of the carriageway when travelling from Bourton in the direction of Wharf Cottages. The pothole is just before the right hand bend and is situated toward the kerb. The bend itself is prior to a T junction where you can either turn right to Shrivenham or left to the junction with the A420. The road is narrow and forms a pinch point. Therefore when vehicles/motorcylists etc meet in the vicinity of the bend, they are forced to drive over the pothole. This is presenting a high risk factor for an accident (particularly for motorcycists/cyclists) and it would be appreciate if OCC could schedule the pothole for patching. Thank-you.

Large Pothole, 16th April
This is an update to FMS reference ENQ24990113 (which is now closed to further updates from the public). The last status was that a repair was require from Thames Water before the pothole can be repaired. I can now report that following drain clearing work in The Meadows, this pothole is no longer leaking water. The leakage was caused by a blocked drain in The Meadows, causing the water to backup and rise out of this pothole. It has now been dry for over 4 weeks. Therefore could we therefore request OCC now progresses the work to repair this dangerous pothole (as a repair by Thames Water is no longer required).

Trees are not being maintained, 4th April
Please can you advise whether the County Council has plans to pollard the trees in Shrivenham High Street this winter. It has been a number of years since this was last done and the lack of maintenance causes two issues.
• The trees are lime trees and for four months in the summer they drop a sticky sap onto cars parked there, and thus attracting wasps. Sometimes there can be 40/50 wasps on our car which is a health hazard getting in and out. • The trees are now blocking the street lights, and whilst two years ago, they simply trimmed around the street light so that the road had some form of illumination, it did nothing for the pavements. The condition of the pavements (trips, etc) and no lights means this is another hazard.
I know there are many priorities for council funds (my taxes), but this is becoming increasingly urgent. In the event that the Council cannot maintain the trees properly, I volunteer myself to trim two trees outside my house and dispose of the cuttings.

Dragon Patcher repair of 'The Meadows', 29th March
In January of this year, the Dragon Patcher was assigned to complete patching work along the length of 'The Meadows', Lower Bourton (SN6 8HX). The Dragon Patcher was able to complete repairs along the length of one side (left hand when driving down the lane from the Lower Bourton road) of The Meadows due to there being a flow of water on the right side of The Meadows. The flow of water has now been addressed (caused by a blocked drain) and the lane is now dry and free from running water. The operator of the Dragon Patching machine explained they would be able to return to complete the patching work once the water issue had been resolved. This FMS report is to therefore ask for the Dragon Patcher to be re-scheduled to The Meadows, Lower Bourton to complete the work. As you can see from the photos, there are large potholes and deterioration along the length of one side of the lane. The repair work conducted in January 2024 (FMS 5323079) made a significant improvement to one side of the lane, and it would be much appreciated if the remaining side could now be comleted as soon as possible, allowing safe access for pedestrians, cyclists, horse riders and vehicles. Thank-you.
