Damage to protected Oak tree and residential property, 24th September
Please can a no ball sign be installed at the green square at Crofton Road. The green square at Crofton Road has been created as part of the development of Badbury Park due to a protected Oak tree which is situated here and there are wild flowers planted. Children are playing with footballs on the green square and kicking them hard and high with no regard for where the ball will land. The balls either end up hitting the residents houses, cars or plants in their front gardens. The children run across the residents gardens to retrieve the balls again not considering what they are doing. The balls are kicked so high they get caught in the branches of the protected Oak tree. They then use further footballs to kick at the tree to try and retrieve the balls. This causes branches to break from the tree causing damage. An additional concern is that roads surround the square and cars come round the corner quickly and the children are often running across the road retrieving their balls. There are designated playgrounds and football pitches within Badbury Park which have been purposely built within the development. Please would you give considerations for A No Ball Games sign to be displayed in this area. To ensure that the Oak tree and residence property suffers no further damage.
