The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of ST7 8ND:
Fly tipping: items in stream, 24th April
What looks like a sofa and possibly a TV (I can't be sure as I was driving) have been dumped in the stream that runs parallel to the road, as if you're heading out of Alsager, towards the A500. This must have happened in the last few days. Items are clearly visible from the road.

At the change of speed limit sign, on the way from Alsager to Audley, 13th April
Road surface is disintegrating on the outside. There’s now a deep pothole surrounded by crumbling/cracking. If you hit it, the wheel really clunks into it, hard. It’s very difficult to avoid as you have to swerve towards the centre of the road - but it’s a narrow, busy road. Complicated by that fact it’s just around a corner, so there’s little visibility until you’re actually at the problem. I’ve now had 3 near misses from people swerving to avoid it, coming onto the wrong side of the road!

Potholes Merelake road just past the junction with Audley road, 19th February
I live on Merelake road. I have twice got my wheel stuck in one of the larger potholes and struggled to get out. Yesterday my disc was damaged. Generally I have a rough idea of where to avoid but after heavy rain it is impossible to navigate around them. I am having to drive now to the Talke end even going to Alsager which is not good for the environment. If an electric car damages it's battery the cost of repair would be huge. There is a great deal of surface water and unfortunately the usual fixes last a few months at best.

Blocked gullies between Border hall and Oak cottages, Audley rd Alsaget, 18th February
Anumber of gullies are blocked resulting in the road flooding and flood water running into the drive of Oaklands. This flood water leaves behind silt and rubbish meaning the gravel chippings have to be excavated, carted away and replaced at a cost of several hundred pounds on each occasion. This problem he's been reported several times over recent years, each time the gully empting crew empty some but not all of the gullies as most are jammed and can't be lifted. To ease the problem at the end of last year a trench was been dug in the road verge to drain water off the carriageway into an adjoining field. However, we now need this field to dry up for cultivation so the trench will be backfilled. I cannot reasonably be expected to continue removing mud from my driveway at Oaklands and replacing gravel at my expense. Therefore I ask that someone takes ownership the problem and replace all the jammed gully tops and clear the gullies allowing the water to drain away without issue.

On the inside corner, as you’re approaching the bend from Alsager direction, 15th February
Big pothole has appeared! It’s probably more than a foot across, at the edge of the road surface. It seems deep - I hit it yesterday and it made a huge thunk. I’m surprised my car doesn’t appear to be damaged. It actually hurt, it was that violent. It’s right on the approach to the corner, where you ideally want to have your wheels, due to other cars coming the other way being near the centre of the road.

At least 8-10 big dangerous potholes in road, 12th February
Several big dangerous water filled potholes in the road. Water run-off from fields and large tractor activity have completely wrecked the road. Some of the holes are over 12" diameter and 6-8" deep. Constant water run off is washing all the hardcore out of the holes. All the drains in the road are completely full and blocked following years of neglect. The amount of mud, debris & damage is making the road pretty much unusable for anything other than a full on 4X4 off road vehicle
