Multiple potholes again on this area of B3078 into Fordingbridge., 1st March

Fri, 01 Mar 2024 08:48:51 +0000
50.927081 -1.783419

These have been 'repaired' over the last few months but have opened up again! They are on the inbound side of the road as you drive into Fordingbridge, just before the houses and petrol station. It is extremely dangerous as they are causing traffic to drive on the opposite side or stop on the affected side. This is particularly dangerous in the dark. These must be repaired correctly not just touched up. They could cause a bad accident or severe injury if not fixed.

2nd Report of unsafe footpath, 13th February

Tue, 13 Feb 2024 11:08:57 +0000
50.925383 -1.794566

Pavement overhanging (+-four foot) conifer hedge causing extensive slippery moss and weed growth to permeate the Hampshire County Council (HCC) financed, responsible asphalt pavement. This road and pavement Health and Safety are the responsibility of HCC. I have engaged with Fordingbridge Town Council who concur. The landowner is responsible for the inappropriately managed hedge overhanging the pavement by four foot, which is twelve foot high, mitigating any sunlight on the pavement that caused the moss, weed growth hazardous issue in the first place. Keeping the hedge at a reasonable height and off the pavement out of the way of pedestrians is HCC responsibility to impart to the responsible party. In this case, the overhang reduces the pavement by half and is now water saturated throughout winter which regularly becomes ice as a result of the overhanging conifer hedge. Clearly the photo provided this information in November 2023. Please address this with the resident post-haste in an effort to mitigate any further injuries that may happen in future. If HCC say this is not their responsibility, not providing a direction as to who will take action is questionable! My next step should this not be successful is my MP, Sir Desmond Swayne.
