There is a water leak or a under ground spring on this section of route 23 which bubbles up and then the water runs on and across the route even in dry weather periods, this makes the section muddy and wet for all sustainable users , and very difficult for wheelchairs use , it’s been a on going issue for years , a drainage pipe needs installing or gravel trench

Large pot hole corner of Mertsone lane, 15th April
Large pot hole on the bend of Mertsone road.
I hit the pothole which was not viable due to being full with heavy rainfall which has resulted in me hitting a large post and damaging my left side wing mirror as it pulled my vehicle in.

Very poor surface on NCN route 23 cycleway between Shide and Blackwater, 26th March
The surface of this path has deteriorated enormously since it's opening in 2002. We should be encouraging and enabling tourists to explore the island by bike, and this should be the flagship path on the island. It also connects the settlements of Rookley Godshill and Merstone to Newport and Cowes and should be a valuable commuter route, but is virtually unusable in it's present state. It is very rough, muddy and wet.
