Lots of potholes, 12th April
Several ( around 15-20) deep potholes are steadily getting much worse.
Although only used by a few cars this road is just being patched and the holes keep coming. There is no footpath but it is used daily by very many elderly residents for their daily walk some use walking aids or have poor vision as well as mums with buggies.
Last year one lady had a nasty fall when she didn’t see a pothole and cut her leg so badly shewas in hospital for some time as a result.
Please can we get this resolved as it’s the main waking stretch for over 70’s in the village.
This road has been fixed several times by the council including only a few weeks ago

Damage to road caused by Thames Water emergency work, 10th April
Thames Water vehicles, carrying out emergency work between 4-20th March, have caused significant damage to the road surface at this location. Deep gulleys at the road edge are a hazard to both car users and cyclists, particularly at night on this unlit stretch. The road was not in this condition prior to the work by Thames Water. Disagree that this particular issue does not meet the criteria for intervention. Many thanks indeed.

Accident Black Spot, 12th March
Over the past number of years there have been numerous accidents on this junction where cars have failed to stop when approaching on the A4095. The police will have record of the worst cases but there are many others. This year alone 3 cars have crossed the junction. One passing through the hedge and going approx 15m into the wood of mature trees. Fortunately managing to avoid the trees. There have been 2 other incidents; one who took out the road sign which, incidentally, has removed the only reflective sign at the end of a fast stretch of road. And a second that hit the sign on the ground and shifted it more into the hedge. It is only a matter of time before there is a serious/fatal accident on this junction. If I might suggest a solution - put some yield ahead or stop ahead signs on the A4095 to give unsuspecting drivers some warning.

Badgers working under the road and on both sided, 12th March
You are aware of this long term issue as there have been traffic cones placed besides the badgers sett in the past. I don’t think badgers respect your cones!! The sett has grown exponentially over the past year and it is quite clear that the badges are working under the road. As the photos show the soil has caved in right up to the structure of the road and it can only be a matter of time before the Road itself collapses. Hopefully, without injury to property or human. I would politely suggest that an engineer is sent to have a look.

Road Sign Knocked down by a Lorry, 5th March
The road sign opposite Kirtlington golf club entrance on the A4095 (Lince Lane) was knocked down by a lorry last year. This is the second time reporting this as it was taken off the system due to the length of time ago that it was reported but has still not been fixed. The sign has been down since September 2023.
