Abandoned bicycle, 3rd May

Fri, 03 May 2024 07:30:15 +0100
51.777118 -1.264701

This good-looking bike, a grey Ridgeback Rapide Speed, has remained attached to a stand near the south end of the northermost set of bicycle stands outside M&S with two substantial combination locks for at least 6 months. It has not moved from these heavily-used bicycle parking spaces during that time and for some time before. This unwarranted use of a valuable space is very inconvenient for other users and will attract scavengers. These photos were taken in February by when I was already sick of it being there, and it still hasn't moved.

Large unrepaired areas on Jack Straws Lane following recent Road works, 2nd May

Thu, 02 May 2024 18:55:03 +0100
51.762897 -1.232624

The Road surface near Doris Field Close and further up the hill near the Nursery on Jacks Straws Lane were not made properly good after the road works from January to the end of March. The road is treacherous for two wheel vechicles as the improperly repaired surface is 2 to 5cm below the original surface. Bikes and motorcycles get caught in the surface because of the raised edges and cannot travel in a straight line. I am really concerned that there will be a serious accident. I thought the company who carried out the work may come back, but they left at the end of March and it’s now May.

Collection of potholes along Foxwell Drive, 2nd May

51.768628 -1.218261

This is a persistent problem. You came out to fix it recently. I watched the whole process and was disappointed to see the shoddy way the job was done. The team spent more time standing around on their phones than actually working on the potholes. Then, once the job was finished they sat around for another 25 minutes before moving on. No wonder our roads are in such a state. I have time stamped video and photos if you need them. I am therefore not surprised to see that the potholes are reappearing so quickly. The concrete under the asphalt is severely damage and so the road needs properly repairing to a standard that is suitable for the busses that now use the road. This was not a problem before the busses started running. I am very happy that we have these busses but the roads on the estate were not built to cope with this sort of traffic and need upgrading. It's a waste of our tax money to keep making short term repairs that continually fail. The impact on me is serious as my home vibrates every time the busses hit the potholes. Please address this issue seriously. The road surfaces all along the bus routes and especially by the bus stops are continually in need of repair and its not fair on residents to be expected to live with such dangerous conditions.

Dear Council, On the 700 bus from Parkway Station to the hospital along Marston Ferry Road just past Cherwell school a large tree branch struck the bus. The noise was so loud on impact that it made a child on the bus cry. I am also concerned that the bus will be damaged being constantly hit by this large branch.
