Broken edging to road encroaching into carriageway, 27th April

Sat, 27 Apr 2024 08:58:30 +0100
52.07705 -1.477315

Several areas where road edge is falling away and encroaching in to carriageway. This is a recurrent problem along this section of road where poor repairs continue to deteriorate and cause hazards both for vehicle tyre damage and risks to cyclists when confronted with large fast-moving agricultural vehicles.

Bunch of potholes on inside corner, 15th April

Mon, 15 Apr 2024 17:59:53 +0100
52.087233 -1.484308

This corner has been repaired before many times but badly done and fails every time! Shoddy contractors. Needs doing again as it's a horrible bend and sometimes you have to hug inside corner if vehicle coming from other way, but riddled with holes as mentioned. It's a mess!

Cliff edge on tarmac, 26th March

Tue, 26 Mar 2024 09:52:00 +0000
52.07703 -1.485649

Can something be done to alleviate the danger of wheels coming off the tarmac and getting stuck in the channel alongside the sharp cliff edge of tarmac which occurs at intervals along this narrow road? It may be okay for 4WDs and trucks but for a smaller car it has caused tyre damage not to mention the dangerous loss of control that is experienced when you get the car back on the road surface. It is down to fortune if there is an oncoming vehicle or not. Can the sides of the road here not be built up?

Two potholes on Church lane at the entance to my drive, also a further pothole 25 metres towards Tysoe alos on Church Lane, 29th January

These are recurring potholes. The work by your contractors is poor, as the repairs last less the six months. CDC are being ripped off by shoddy repairs paid for from our Council Tax. All of the village roads to Epwell, from Shutford, Brailes and Tysoe are a disgrace. They are dangeous and harmful to road users. Pot holes, broken edges and subsidance everywhere. Third word farm tracks are better.

New potholes on the road that you didnt repair properly in Decemberd, 18th January

Thu, 18 Jan 2024 16:57:08 +0000
52.061794 -1.497641

Your December 19th repairs have lasted one month, brilliant, what a waste of time, i need to have my car suspension repaired because of this road and id reported yourd attempted repairs and now the road is as bad as it was last December, a month ago. this is really not acceptable you should be able to assess a road and carry out a set of repairs to allow you to not need to return to the road for at least a year!! surely. ?

Foliage obscuring signs, 28th December

Thu, 28 Dec 2023 03:40:48 +0000
52.087257 -1.484475

OCC are now saying that this issue is to do with the landowner? I would have thought 99.9% of hedgerows witin the county are owned by private land owners?? They are saying that the landowner must fix the issue. yet, within a few days of the original report going in, 1 sign was cleared up. Now either this was a complete fluke and the owner acted upon the report, or as i think, someone from OCC or a contractor went out and did literaly half a job. As you can see by the picture, 1 sign has had foliage cut back to show more of the sign, the other is still obscured. Why would anyne just do half a job? I will keep reporting this problem until it is fixed. I will also be informing our MP of this issue.

Sign obscured by foliage, 22nd December

Fri, 22 Dec 2023 06:01:00 +0000
52.087341 -1.484479

This is getting beyond a joke now. OCC saying this "Thank you for your report. We have checked the concern raised and found that this particular issue doesn't currently meet the criteria for intervention under our Highway Safety Inspection Policy. We will continue to monitor this area during our routine statutory inspections. Find out more about highway repairs and how we assess risk " Yet, someone has been out and cut half the foliage away, and keft the other sign still obscured. How can OCC say they have "fixed it" and then say it does not meet the criteria! Also, the link they sent sayin why they cant do it does not work. Are OCC waiting for a serious RTA to happen as someone heads towards the bend and does not know it os there as the sign is obscured?

Cheverons obscured, 18th December

Mon, 18 Dec 2023 20:34:50 +0000
52.087437 -1.484511

Firstly, this report was "actioned" but only half the job was done. Then OCC say there are no "cheverons" at this locations. when there is a picture attached and also they ( or someone representing them did half a job on the signs that apparently do not exist!! How much evidense do you need? There is a picture, the signs are on a bend outside Lodge farm. ! cheveron has been jhalf cleared, the other is still obscured. If at the time the 1st one was cleared, someone used their initiative and cleared the one next to it ( inches away ) i would not have to make another report.
