The entire road development, 1st May

Wed, 01 May 2024 14:15:27 +0100
51.622809 -1.320325

The road is atrocious. Always has been. It has been left without markings and has had inadequate surfacing for 3 weeks. Today, after 3 weeks, they're completing the work. (We hope). This has caused chips on my windscreen and car bodywork. Not to mention the many repairs I have had to have on the family vehicles due to the poor standard of roads. The contractors you have hired have no notion of traffic flow and road decency. The village has become a 20 zone and yet, none of the road signs are on the same page. It commences as a 40, then it states 20, then just as you go over the bridge, there's a sign that flashes 30 and then another electronic sign that then flashes 20. The cost of implementing and replacing signs should be mean you do the job once and properly. The bridge has been turned into a single lane road, bordered by a pretend cycle path that immediately ends as soon as you cross the bridge. I suppose liaising with the train companies to make repairs is far too complicated and time consuming. I applaud your blatant exploits and wish you the same predetermination in an alternate dimension

Branch sticking into road, 25th April

Thu, 25 Apr 2024 15:41:22 +0100
51.604837 -1.305668

There is a branch that protrudes into the road. It was left after the other hedges were cut back a while ago. I usually manage to avoid it but yesterday there was a car coming the other way and so I couldn't and it has scratched all along my passenger side.

Discriminatory Road Conditions Endangering Disabled Drivers and Passengers, 18th April

Thu, 18 Apr 2024 13:04:28 +0100
51.616065 -1.314053

Abingdon road A4130 OX13 6AA TO ABINGDON OX14 4DR TOWARDS A34 ROUNDABOUT I am logging a deep concern regarding the hazardous condition of the above road. As a disabled driver/passenger, navigating this road has become increasingly perilous due to its deteriorating surface. The uneven and poor conditions, pose significant risks to individuals with mobility impairments, making it exceedingly difficult to maneuver safely. It also reflects a blatant disregard for the safety and well-being of disabled people. It is deeply concerning that the needs and challenges of disabled people have seemingly been overlooked in the maintenance of this road. An immediate action for repair is needed to address these discriminatory and hazardous conditions and to ensure the safety and accessibility for all road users regardless of ability. Prompt repairs and improvements are essential to prevent accidents and promote inclusivity within our community.

Another bollard completely ripped out, 18th April

Thu, 18 Apr 2024 08:43:18 +0100
51.616947 -1.267932

Again, no photo for this one, but the bollard is just laying partially across the carriageway, and partially across the pavement. Perhaps now is a good time to reinstate it, what with all the freak heavy weather we're having at the moment. You never know, it might just save a life...

Illegible speed sign - still a problem, 18th April

Thu, 18 Apr 2024 08:40:02 +0100
51.616978 -1.267118

Regarding ENQ23964668, which was closed on 9 June 2023, this has still not been attended and the sign is still very much just a small white circle with absolutley no clue as to the speed limit. Please can this be re-raised, if for no other reason as to just remove the sign so that people are actually looking at the road, rather that this pointless circle, obstructed by bushes!

Pothole been there for a few weeks if not longer, getting bigger and deeper. Caused my wheel to burst leaving my child and myself stuck at Park Club awaiting recovery and a bill to pay for damage!! This has been reported numerous times and should have been fixed by now as it is extremely dangerous and unsafe.

Confusing lane markings regularly causes confusion, 11th April

Thu, 11 Apr 2024 09:35:06 +0100
51.61917 -1.302552

When you come off the A34 Southbound at Milton Interchange, the way the road divides up as you travel around the roundabout is poorly designed and marked. I have regularly seen cars cutting across lanes because they don't know where they need to be when heading to go under the A34. This causes near misses with other drivers who then beep and presumably feel road ragey. The lane markings are not intuitive at all, especially for irregular users of the interchange.

The surface of the bus stop is a patch of mud., 9th April

Tue, 09 Apr 2024 12:59:08 +0100
51.631139 -1.288297

This is the busiest bus stop in the village and the waiting area comprises a patch of mud, ie no hard standing. This is totally inadequate, a large area of hard standing is needed. Many elderly people with moblity issues use the stop along with parents with buggies. There is a bus shelter for the bus stop on the northern side of Milton Road. The bus stop on the south is not fit for purpose.

No benches, 8th April

Mon, 08 Apr 2024 18:06:24 +0100
51.632285 -1.286447

You have recently put benches all over the village of Sutton Courtenay. They look very nice thank you, although the benches on the council estate will not get used and could even get vandalised. (I hope not) My question is though, why have you not put benches at Milton Road bus stops. My mother is 91 years old and has lived in the village all her life. She uses the buses to both Abingdon or Didcot almost every day. She should not have to stand and wait for a bus, when you could easily put benches at the bus stops. Please do something about this.
