Since recent roadsworks took place: Traffic lights coming up from Stamford Road onto Stamford St, and lights coming from Lees Rd onto Stamford St are only on green for 4 seconds - only allowing 2 cars at a time to go through. Traffic is backing up in all directions and the whole town is grid locked and very angry due to this.

Traffic lights need a delay., 26th October

Thu, 26 Oct 2023 17:33:51 +0100
53.519397 -2.046296

The traffic turning right onto Stamford road can't get through because of the traffic coming from Stockport road. At busy times traffic from Stockport road have priority and will go through the lights on Amber and also on Red, this means sometime no traffic can get through from Arundel street or people go on red and risk an accident. When traffic builds up here it causes major tailbacks.

Blocking and parking across residents drives and dropped curbs, 18th September

Mon, 18 Sep 2023 16:17:23 +0100
53.520245 -2.039432

Daily, during term time, strangers are parking and blocking my driveway, which is a dropped curb, stopping access on/off the drive, as well as parking on dropped curbs. It also blocks my view in/out of my drive which is dangerous for pedestrians passing by and other oncoming traffic. I have, several times, politely asked people not to park across the drive and block me in/out, put a sign requesting people not park and contacted the school headmistress at St John’s Primary School (opposite) on several occasions to ask parents/guardians not to park across local residents driveways. I have asked parents to not park their car across my drive, but as soon as they move, a new car comes and it is a repetitive cycle. I don’t wish to have any difficulties accessing my home and I should be able to come and go without people blocking me in/out. Despite these efforts, the matter continues at school drop off (between 8.30-9am) and school pick up (between 2.40-3.20pm). I have asked the school to speak to parents but the issue has gone on for over a year and it is not resolving.
