Area needs cleaning and signs added to prevent flytipping, 13th April
Been like this for many months. One bin bag is seemingly added every couple months. Would be good if community payback removed the excess soil around the square soil patch and worked the soil. Some local engagement could encourage some gardening and maintenance.

Unlicensed Public Urinal Yorkshire Street entrance to Bull Brow Ginnell, 12th April
Unlicensed Public Urinal Yorkshire Street entrance to Bull Brow Ginnell. The entrance to this alleyway absolutely stinks of urine .Its degenerating into a public health hazard and open sewer.
It is in urgent need of a thorough hose down with industrial quantities of bleach by highway cleaning services !
It also has an abandoned chair thrown behind the installation art installed at the entrance to the alleyway .Not a good look after the £250 MILLION town centre regeneration programme !
Equally the alley stinks of skunk smoke for many parts of the day so some of the year on year increase in local Poll Tax for the Greater Manchester Police policing precept obviously need to be deployed with some actual POLICING so the alley does not become yet another un-policed town centre 'No Go Zone !'
We never see GMP in the area ( except when responding to a crime incident ) and the occasional Cops with Camera patrols are less than useless since they appear to have no interest whatsoever in doing meaningful patrols of the town centre back streets . The situation is becoming a local standing joke amongst the few shoppers who still continue to shop in Rochdale town centre

Disabled parking has no drop kerbs, 1st April
There's Council-run on-street parking here, including designated disabled parking spaces, handy for the North entrance to the station, but there's no drop kerbs so I have to bump down a full size kerb in my wheelchair. It is not good having accessible spaces that are not served by drop kerbs.

Large manhole cover causing noise issue again, 25th March
Once again the manhole cover between 71 and 73 is banging and causing the houses on the street to shake when large traffic passes over it, especially large vehicles. Attempts had previously been made to fix this last year (3 times at least) but it has deteriorated and failed once more. The noise is bad enough but the shaking of properties is making residents utterly miserable, there is no way of escaping this in our home, so again the sleep deprivation is making us ill. This major road has traffic all day and night so it is endless. Can anything be done to fix this, and fix it permanently? Please!

Dangerous piece of road surface left in the potholes of Manchester Road, 24th March
There is a highly dangerous piece of road surface left amongst the chaotic patchwork of dangerous potholes along Manchester Road which is a major road Traffic collision hazard for road users .
I know you'll be as shocked as I was to encounter this rarity and will be anxious to see it removed post haste
Unexpectedly finding a random and totally abnormal piece of safe road surface remaining amongst the potholes , assorted highway rubbish detritus , flaking tarmac & broken glass is most disconcerting in the extreme and shocking to regular road users.
In many cases this is giving rise to flashbacks amongst motorists of a time when Rochdale Council actually gave a monkeys toss about providing the local council tax payer with adequate public services well maintained local roads & highways to a standard almost approaching actual value for money.
Please send some Highway ( contracted out operatives ) at the earliest opportunity and replace the remaining piece of safe road surface with a pothole at once so the road surface is of a uniform & consistent unsafe standard throughout.
This is a dangerous corporate oversight on your part especially since so much council neglect and non-work has gone into allowing most of the road to degenerate into such a uniform standard of total disrepair & near perfect surface debris .
This is something which simply could not have been achieved without the Councils high calibre non-intervention for over a decade.
You should not be unduly modest about claiming the credit for your handiwork .Local voters are already anxious to see Rochdale Councillors receive due credit for your achievements in a few short weeks time
I look forward to your usual proactive response before the Local Council Elections of 2 May . Regards
