Horrible parking in Armstrong Hurst Close., 29th February
Dear Rochdale Council,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention several pressing issues in our community, specifically at Armstrong Hurst Close. These concerns have been causing significant tensions among the residents and require prompt attention.
Parking Problems: There is an ongoing issue of inconsiderate parking, with untaxed and uninsured cars being left unattended for months. This has not only resulted in an unsightly environment but has also raised safety concerns within the community.
Obstructed Views: Overgrown trees are obstructing the views of several houses in the area. This not only affects the aesthetic appeal of the neighborhood but also diminishes the quality of life for residents.
Inconsiderate Parking Blocking Entrances: Residents are facing difficulties accessing their own properties due to inconsiderate parking, which is causing frustration and inconvenience.
Blocking Emergency Access: In emergency situations, the current parking situation poses a serious threat by potentially impeding access for emergency services. This is a critical concern that needs immediate attention to ensure the safety of the residents.
Neighbor Tensions: Tensions among neighbors have escalated, with reported incidents of threats and disputes. This situation is detrimental to the overall well-being of the community and requires intervention.
I kindly request that the Rochdale Council investigate these matters promptly and take appropriate measures to address the concerns raised. Your swift action will contribute to fostering a safer and more harmonious living environment for all residents of Armstrong Hurst Close.
Thank you for your attention to these urgent matters.
Sincerely,
A fed up resident of Armstrong Hurst Close.

Severe mud and stone deposits on road, 10th January
Once again, severe mud deposited on highway from Bovis site, do I need to remind Rochdale Highways dept of their enforcement responsibilities. A range of powers are available to the Police and the Highways Department, primarily the Highways Act 1980; and the Road Traffic Act 1988.
Highways Act 1980 Section 137 states “If a person, without lawful authority or excuse, in any way wilfully obstructs the free passage along a highway he is guilty of an offence”. Highways Act 1980 Section 148 “If without lawful authority or excuse a person deposits anything whatsoever on a highway to the interruption of any user of the highway he is guilty of an offence” Highways Act 1980.
Section 149 of the Highways Act states “if anything is deposited on the highway so as to constitute a nuisance/danger the Highway Authority can require the person who put it there to remove it forthwith”. Mud causes skidding and is therefore dangerous and a nuisance. I have reported this numerous times and nothing is being done, it is an accident waiting to happen.

Skip full, 26th November
One of our neighbours chosen not to use the wheelie bins provided. She collects several black bags in her back garden, then she orders a skip and starts to fill it. The skip can stay outside for 2/3 months with household waste in. Which is attracting rats and other vermin. Surely this is illegal

Dangerous Parking/parking, 8th November
I am unfortunately having to spend time writing this email as I feel that it is important that you are made aware of serious dangerous driving and parking outside of the Kentmere academy and nursery and that it is a constant issue outside the school caused by the parents that are dropping off and collecting their children.
I pass the school daily on my journey to work and I am now having to change my travel time due incompetent drivers. If there was ever an incident that required emergency vehicles to pass it would impossible to get through in an effective time. There is double parking, people not understanding right of way, parents letting children wonder into the road it is a danger to the community which could result in a serious road accident I have emailed the school who have responded that this is a constant issue that they are facing despite issuing notices to parents. But they are still facing the same issue, she explained that the school has received numerous complaints from the community and suggested that I contact yourselves. To help support the school in tackling this.
