Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust protected verge, 24th February
Hedgerow adjacent to Ropsley Rise Wood needs cutting back after the nesting season as it is overhanging the protected verge and is right up to/over the road. The protected verge is supposed to give wild plants a linked corridor between nature reserves. From Lincs Wildlife Trust - If verges develop into woodland, aside from causing a hazard to road users, this would represent a loss of much of our remaining wildflower grassland which is recognised as a vital resource for pollinators with its own suite of wildlife that adds biodiversity to our ecosystem.

A52 first turning to Ropsley from Grantham, 7th December
Dear Sir Coming from Grantham the exit road to Ropsley is difficult to see particularly at night. It’s just after the left hand turn to Welby and after a bend. There was a sign on the triangle with a florescent band road it which was something at least but it was hit and damaged and either the band hasn’t been replaced or it’s not visible now. Turning right is now very dangerous. In fact my wife saw a car starting to overtake behind her as she was looking for the turning behind a car doing the same thing. Cars are travelling at speed and you really have to start indicating some way back looking for the right hand turn. Quite frightening you cannot see the turn. There needs to be better signage even a beacon or light to see the triangle or you miss it. Quite often with cars behind me I drive to another exit off the A52. Surprised it’s not an acciden5 black spot. Yours sincerely Jonathan Williams St Andrews Place Church lane Pickworth Sleaford NG34 0TF 07990809693

6 Somerby Road, Ropsley, NG33 4AY, 4th December
There's what we think is a damaged "flood drain", "french drain" or what ever you'd like to call it at the front of our property, just off the road. It appears to be broken just at where our footpath is and consequently in times of heavy rain, snow or even burst water mains in the area - floods straight down our footpath to the front of our property (see image). I've raised it countless times and been passed from water company, to council, to highways and even to the drainage board but nobody wants to take responsibility for it. We've been in the property nearly 10 years and I've tried dealing with it myself, but it hasn't really worked and I'm sick of it now, so please help. There must be something that can be done?
