FIXMYSTREET IN NG22 0LW
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of NG22 0LW:
Massive pothole, 7th April
2 massive crater like potholes in left hand lane. Just before the over bridge before Markham Moor turnoff. These are enough to throw a car off course, burst a tyre or break a wheel. They have been there a while and are getting worse. There is a real risk to life when hitting that these at the national speed limit for this road. 2 less sever potholes are a short distance further south just after the Tuxford turn off.

One dangerously deep pothole, and a few more deep potholes, on the right of the inside lane of the northbound carriageway, approximately 5 miles south of the Elkesley 50mph speed limit zone., 19th March
Please attend to as a matter of urgency. One dangerously deep pothole, and a few more deep potholes, on the right of the inside lane of the northbound carriageway. The deepest pothole will undoubtedly cause a serious accident if not attended to immediately, as it could easily cause serious damage to a vehicles wheel/tyre, and make the driver lose control of his vehicle.

Large deep pothole on northbound right hand side a few hundred metres before Priestgate bridge., 17th March
Road appears to have sunken about 4 ft wide leaving very deep pothole that you don’t see until the last minute. Went over it about 60mph resulting in large bang on drivers side, sufficiently severe that I felt the need to pull off the road at the first opportunity to check that tyres were still inflated and that there were no visible signs of damage to suspension or wheels.

Huge deep pot holes, 29th February
Deep dangerous pot holes in Lane 1 heading North on the A1.
Hit these pot holes this evening whilst following a lorry at a safe journey with no time to react and swap lanes due to traffic flow.
Appears to have been reported 5 Feb 2024, but still nothing has been done with it now being 29 Feb 2024.
If a driver was to swerve from not seeing this or a driver to hit the hole head on then a potential fatal accident could occur. Needs immediate attention by Highways.

Bridge structure, 19th July
Good morning Andy Shearman here from Blaxton near Doncaster. I travel up and down the A1 from Blyth to Long Benington most weeks. Recently the underside of a bridge caught my eye. The bridge in question is the second one southbound from Markham Moor services, there appears to be some misalignment on the north facing beam. My background was fabrication and welding in the steel industry . I thought it best to contact you to be safe
