No one can see the instructions on the speed sign, 3rd July

Sun, 03 Jul 2022 08:01:57 +0100
52.7729 0.842122

A privately owned hedge is not being cleared and cut away from a speed sign. Has been getting worse over the last 3 years or so. The hedge has now claimed the sign and appears to be devouring it . Almost got to the point now where the pole itself is disappearing. The writing in the sign itself can no longer be seen. Not even when you are in foot , standing in front of it . Not a chance you are driving. Please can this be dealt with asap ? Thank you.

Fri, 30 Apr 2021 09:07:18 +0100

This post was recently replaced after the previous one was knocked over. The repair to the road surface is incomplete, leaving loose material to either side. This will rapidly become a large hole, creating a hazard for pedestrians and undermining the new post. The road surface needs to be FULLY repaired.

Water overflow from drain cover that cannot be repositioned and is causing a hazard, 3rd January

Sun, 03 Jan 2021 17:05:32 +0000
52.774322 0.842227

This is an ongoing issue for many years. The farmer further up the street opens a grate when he has to much water on his land and all his overflow and debris blocks the drain. Highways came out twice last year to remove some debris that works for a while then it happens again all the way through the winter months. The mains water pipe has been replaced with a smaller one inside the old pipe. The excess water is now impacting badly on the surrounding road surface and the cover is presently in a dangerous position for walkers and drivers. The cover is at the start of the drive up to The Beeches.

Fakenham Rd is designated a 60mph Road. The only part of this road that CAN take 60mph is along my post code area. Any other stretch of this road is NOT repeat NOT suitable for 60mph. The stretch of road at my post code whilst designated 60mph also warns motorists to SLOW down. No cars obey this warning other than those who drive much slower than 60. Under observation, it can be seen that contrary to the SLOW down signs, this stretch of road being straighter encourages cars and bikes to increase their speed far in excess of 6omph. In ADDITION, motorists both cars and bikes are actually overtaking at great speeds at this point. When one considers that this stretch has exits and entrances to peoples homes which creates very hazardous conditions for joining the Fakenham Road for us that live here. I have personally turned safely on to this road toward Dereham, and as I did so, a car travelling toward Fakenham pulled out to overtake, and was heading towads me on my side of the road! The other driver managed to pull back in his lane but caused other motorists to brake hard to allow his car to get back in lane. Just days ago, a car was involved in exactly the same scenario, The care somersaulted, landed on its roof and injuries occurred to the driver, The police, the ambulances and fire Brigade were at the scene. THI HAPPENED RIGHT ON THE SPOT I am describing above! WE ARE A VILLAGE - WITH RESIDENTS - a SCHOOL - Why cannot this stretch be 40MPH or even 30MPH for the safety of all. The motorists and locals alike. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT FOR A FATALITY ! IT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DO NOT ACT. I will keep a record of this communication dated 21st August 2014
