FIXMYSTREET IN NR16 1RE
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of NR16 1RE:
5ft long pot hole, 23rd April
This is damaging the valance trim on most vehicles that use this shared drive entrance, it's a nasty hole and so wide now we can't avoid it. You painted white lines round it a month or more ago now and we've reported it several times between us. Your white lines have rubbed off its been that long! You fixed a much smaller one at the time of white lining this one but never bothered repairing it. This has now been here for at least 6 months if not longer.

Gullies blocked, 19th December
Letter box gullies are blocked which causes flooding in heavy rain. I have attempted to clear two of the gullies by reaching in as far as possible, but carrier pipes are full of silt and road grit. Needs jetting please to improve outfall flow to watercourse. I know this has been reported before, and reply received stated the problem was not at intervention level. The pipes are blocked, i have cleared the first foot by hand but beyond that they are still blocked. So 'not at intervention level' doesn't make much sense. I also dug out the grips on the opposite verge to help alleviate the issue. The properties at Oak Range and Esperanto get the run off if this isn't sorted.

Blocked roadside drains, 17th November
Letter box gullies are blocked on S bend which increases flood water on road during heavy rain. Surface water can then also drain off road into driveways at Oak Range and Esperanto causing water level in private ditches getting too high and flooding septic tanks and domestic drainage. This has in the past caused water to back up into property through the drains.

Non removal of 10mph hazard signage, 8th April
We have yet another rash of 10mph hazard signs put up to warn stretches of road where pothole repairs were done. They were put up about a week before the work and are still there (in various places round the village) a month after the work was done. Their credibility is totally undermined by this negligence and the signs themselves are now just litter. When will they be removed? If they have to be put in place (who on earth takes notice of a 10mph speed limit?) why can't the contractor put them in position and remove them as they work round the roads to be treated?

Overgrown footpath, 31st December
Carleton Rode FP9 is severely overgrown at the point, blocking access to the squeeze stile. It is possible to climb the fence further along to bypass this part, but having to do so shouldn't be necessary. The overgrowth needs to be cut back.
The enclosed part of the path between this squeeze stile and the bridge was also flooded. If the land-owner has chosen to enclose the path by fencing, he should ensure there is adequate drainage.

Overgrown footpath beside ditch, 31st December
The last bit of Carleton Rode FP4 here before it meets the road runs between a property boundary and a ditch.
There are lots of brambles growing from the property side making the path very narrow. In places, what is left of the path is slippery and is sloping down towards the ditch, making it quite dangerous to try to traverse.
There is a possible alternative route on the other side of the ditch, but the ditch is too wide and deep to cross safely by the kissing gate the eastern end of this stretch without a bridge.
The photo shows the view from the other side of the ditch looking west towards the road.

Dangerous ditch with missing footbridge, 31st December
Carleton Rode FP22 crosses a field boundary and ditch here. The gap in the hedge was pretty overgrown, but more importantly there was no footbridge here.
The ditch is about 4 feet deep and 8 feet across, with very steep and slippery sides. After cutting back some of the encroaching brambles we were eventually able to cross, but with great difficulty.
Urgent work is needed to provide a bridge here as the route is quite dangerous in its current condition.
