Warnign signage needed (C289 and Southrepps RB 20), 10th June
A newly recorded (albeit historic) restricted byway joins the busy C289 road, here. The C289 carries fast moving traffic, adjacent to a bend associated with the near-by railway bridge. Clearly, as a matter of safety, signage is needed, to warn users of the C289, be they approaching from either direction, that the junction exists, and of the potential presence of restricted byway users, on the road here.

New gate on the public road (Northrepps), 25th March
Rectory Road Northrepps (U14276): A new wooden gate, and gate posts, have been installed on the public highway. The first photograph was taken on 24th March 2023. The other photographs were taken in August 2009 and August 2018, respectively, showing the absence of the gate and posts. It is not acceptable, even if the gate is left "open" (as shown in the photograph), because the gate posts lie within the legal extent of the highway, and these, toegther with the gate itself, form an obstruction.

The public path, in the vicinity indicated on the map by the pointer, is far from clear, on the ground, and even appears, according to the map published at https://maps.norfolk.gov.uk/highways/ , to be obstructed by buildings. The correct route needs to be clearly identified, on the ground (to its full, legal extent/width). The path undergoes several changes in direction, which are far from clear on the ground, and therefore, the path also needs to be clearly signposted, along its length, to assist persons in following the correct route.
