Poor signage at crossing (Felmingham FP 3), 22nd December
The former railway trackbed is being promoted as the "Weavers' Way", but the signage for Felmingham Footpath No. 3 to the north-west is very obscure. Please look at the photos. Approaching from the east, along the "Weavers' Way", although there is a visible roundel for the continuation of the "Weavers' Way" to the west, there is absolutely nothing visible to indicate the existence or whereabouts of Felmingham FP 3 to the north-west.

Public path obliterated AGAIN (Felmingham FP 3), 22nd December
Reporting further to https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/4129486 (Jan 2023) and also https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/2402308 (November 2020) and also https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1380878 (Nov 2018). There is, YET AGAIN, no trace of the path, across cultivated arable fields. Zero compliance with the Rights of Way Act 1990, Norfolk County Council, you really do need to start getting your act together, in enforcing this!

Public path STILL obscure at railway crossing (Felmingham FP 3), 21st November
Reporting further to https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1093802 and https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1380876. Norfolk County Council are STILL obstinately refusing to signpost this path properly, where it crosses the former railway trackbed. On the south-east side of the railway trackbed, there is nothing but a tiny waymark roundel attached to an electricity pole, situated some distance away from the railway trackbed. Moreover, that roundel, tiny as it is, is faded (see first photos). On the north-west side of the railway trackbed, the situation is even worse - there is no signage visible from the railway trackbed (see second and third photos). The Countryside Act 1968 places a statutory duty on the council to erect signage where needed to enable anybody unfamiliar with the locality to follow the route of Felmingham FP 3; how is anybody unfamiliar with the locality, trying to follow Felmingham FP 3, supposed to know where the path goes as it crosses the railway trackbed? In addition, the railway trackbed (although not a public right of way) is getting promoted as a "Norfolk Trail", so you would think that a pro-active authority would want to promote - or at the very least, to clearly indicate - the inter-relationships between this promoted "trail", and the wider, bona fide public right-of-way network. Yet more evidence of an appallingly bad public right-of-way service being provided by the County Council. Lots of money being spent on the old railway trackbed, with statutory duties towards actual public rights of way being willfully neglected.

Misleading signage at Felmingham, 21st November
The photographs were taken, on 19.11.2020, at the location indicated by the pin on the map (grid reference TG 2447 2854. This location does not lie on any public right of way recorded on the Norfolk County Council's definitive map. This signage would appear to have been engineered to mislead the public away from the route of Felmingham Footpath No. 3. Norfolk County Council, this signage bears your name, so the presumption has to be that you erected this signage here. Why did you do so, and under what powers? This apparently illegal signage needs to be removed promptly, and Felmingham FP 3 clearly signposted instead.

Waymarking STILL needed (Felmingham FP 3), 21st November
Reporting further to https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1380867 and https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1093815. There is STILL no waymarking here! See photos taken 19.11.2020. In the absence of signage it is very difficult for anyone unfamiliar with the locality to follow the route of the path, where it leaves the field headland to go across the field. Section 27(4) of the Countryside Act 1968 places a duty in the Norfolk County Council to erect a signpost in a situation like this.

Unnecessary kissing gate STILL on the path (Felmingham FP 2), 21st November
Reporting further to: https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1093849. See photos taken 19th November 2020. The gate is still in situ, across the path. The land has long been arable, so the egress of livestock is not an issue. The gate does not present a barrier to creatures such as rabbits (see photos). The Norfolk County Council admitted in 2018 that they held no written authorisation for it, and yet, it remains still in situ today, posing an unnecessary, not to say apparently quite unlawful, obstacle to the public.

Path ploughed up - AGAIN (Skeyton FP 3), 9th December
Hot on the heels of https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1771161 the path has now been left in an appallingly rough state, following the harvesting of the crop. See the photographs. Such disturbance is not the first disturbance, so should have been made good within 24 hours. ENQUIRY OF NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL: Why are you still failing to enforce the Rights of Way Act 1990 here?
