Lack of warning signs about speed restrictions, 14th March
It would be helpful to have some additional signage on this section of road to remind people that there is a 30mph speed limit (e.g. a lit sign flashing up your speed which is an effective way to slow people down) and a larger warning sign about a speed camera up ahead. There is only 1 small sign on the side of the road with a 30mph sign which is easy to miss and the speed limits are variable in the area so it is easy to get confused. I don't want to break the speed limit but was caught going 37mph by Chalky Lane cameras. My car sped up as I went downhill and I had just turned off Rushett Lane which is national speed limit up until the traffic lights so in my head the speed limit was 40mph.

Dangerous longitudinal splits in road, 3rd March
On the west bound carriageway of Christchurch Road, on the downhill stretch, there are extensive splits in the surface running longways down the road. These are extremely dangerous to cyclists, more so than potholes, as if your front wheel enters a split, you are thrown off your machine, on a fast section of the road, and liable to be struck by motor traffic.
