The no cycling sign has disappeared, 25th April

Thu, 25 Apr 2024 18:29:19 +0100
52.051246 -2.71177

I noticed today that the no cycling sign has disappeared on the Nelson Street side of Victoria bridge. I have noticed that people ignore the signs. I wonder whether it would be better to put the signs up with a black, diagonal line through the cycle. Better no cycling signs should also be placed at both ends of Drybridge Passage. It isn't wide enough for pedestrians and cycles. Thanks for cleaning under the bridge here.

Obstructed pavement, 4th April

Thu, 04 Apr 2024 08:52:32 +0100
52.056532 -2.682443

Exceptionally overgrown hedge takes away around 50% of the pavement width. This creates a danger for pedestrians, and only recently my own children had to step in the road to pass an oncoming pedestrian as there is no where else to walk/stand.

Flood/large puddle, 4th April

Thu, 04 Apr 2024 08:50:07 +0100
52.056078 -2.683063

Recurring giant puddle every time it rains (which is very frequent). It doesn’t drain and covers the entirety of the end of the pavement as well as spilling out into the road at the crossing point next to the school car park. It’s impossible for pedestrians to get past without walking into the road which is incredibly dangerous, especially around school start/finish times.

Manhole unit loose in road, 2nd April

Tue, 02 Apr 2024 13:05:59 +0100
52.06085 -2.704471

This has been deteriorating for several weeks, where the whole frame round the manhole is flexing, and as cars drive over it, you can clearly hear the loud noise of it moving. Apart from the continual noise to nearby neighbours, the ware and tear will get gradually worse, with the possibility of the manhole collapsing and causing a serious accident.

Footpath partially blocked by overgrown hedge, 15th March

Fri, 15 Mar 2024 21:36:40 +0000
52.055524 -2.686997

Overgrown hedge restricting the available size of the footpath. This is worse in wet conditions because the poor construction of the kerb leads to standing water which inconsiderate road users splash onto school children and parents. This has been an issue for a while I’ve logged it before but my log has been removed, this is still there today.

Concrete blocks obstructing route, 29th February

Thu, 29 Feb 2024 22:17:35 +0000
52.043202 -2.694012

I regularly use this route on foot and bike. Concrete bollards have appeared obstructing the clear right of way, recently the concrete blocks have moved and leave even less of a gap now. My children both have disabilities and these obstacles are making their daily life harder due to visibility and being funnelled for no obvious reason at this crossing point. I do not believe this access takes into consideration the needs of the less able and a clear right of way like we used to have would be best
