Pedley Hill, about 100 yards before the junction with Hemel Hempstead road, 15th March
This pothole is very deep and big, therefore difficult to avoid unless you move into the oncoming traffic lane. I hit it this Tuesday evening at 6 pm and this resulted in a flat tire. I ended up having to wait 2.5 hours for an emergency mobile tire repair company to come and help me and had to pay £195 for the damages. I have photos of my tire and the invoice/receipt for the repairs. What is concerning is that this problem had been reported back in January yet there were no signs to warn drivers of the damaged and dangerous surface

B440 between Hudnall Corner and 'Merry Weather'., 27th February
There are multiple deep, dangerous, potholes along this section of road. They are particularly dangerous for motorcyclists who may not see them in time to take avoiding action, especially in the dark. CBC have previously closed some reports by claiming this section is Bucks responsibility. It is not Bucks responsibility it is a CBC responsibility to repair this section of road. When will it be done?

Road surface not fit for purpose., 20th December
There is countless reports on the road surface at this crossroads, over several years!!!. I have reported before but there seems to be an ongoing argument on who is responsible for the road. Councils keep batting it back and forth to each other. I see there is planned works on the Pedley Hill junction but no mention of the whole area of the crossroads being done. I am no road engineer but it is evident the road needs ripping up and relaying. My car's suspension has taken an absolute battering because of this (my only route to work) no matter what speed I drive over it and I am sure I won't be the only one. This needs to be done before someone is seriously hurt.

Failed road surface at the crossroads junction of B440 and Pedley Hill/Hudnall Lane., 17th December
To be clear, I am referring to the actual bit of road where the roads intersect, please see the attached photo of the responsibilities of Central Beds and Hertfordshire Councils. The photo was supplied by Central Beds and has been agreed by Hertfordshire County Council so there can be no argument about which bit of road which council is responsible for! I refer here to the Hertfordshire section. On Fix My Street there are nine open complaints (prior to this one) about this junction which have been sent to HCC dating back as far as June 22. I suggest whoever is responsible in HCC goes back and reads all the relevant reports including the updates. The relevant report numbers are; 4876104, 4854972, 4827024, 4792476, 4356754, 4180146, 3885919, 3885916 & 3602528. The state of the road surface on this junction is a disgrace and is dangerous. This year I have seen HCC spending thousands of pounds on resurfacing roads and footpaths which were in better condition and less used than this junction which is heavily used and on a classified, national speed limit road. The junction is particularly dangerous for cyclists and motorcyclists who could be unseated going across, or turning on, this junction. If they fell under the wheels of a vehicle the possible consequences are obvious. The fact that HCC has been warned many times about this dangerous junction is recorded on the internet (and copied to my PC) so the evidence of Council neglect can be provided should the need arise. Will HCC resurface this junction and make it safe or will HCC continue to gamble that there will not be a serious accident?
