Report on FixMyStreet

Over the last weekend I had cause to drive along Horne Lane in Evenlode, and as you will see from the attached photograph, clearly there is a major issue with the retention of surface water on the Public Highway. There is in fact a gulley below the standing water, and the photograph shows a certain amount of water, however on past journeys the water frequently extends over 2.0 m across the road, and consistently at a depth in excess of 100 mm. Needless to say this is both extremely dangerous, and inconvenient when attempting to access the post box. Over the last four or five years, a constant flow of heavy traffic from a continuous stream of building works along Horne Lane, has resulted in a long ongoing stream of mud and damage to the existing verges, the end result being what you see in the attached photograph. Could I ask for your urgent attention to resolving this very long running issue with the surface water, and in particular the cleaning out of the gully to avoid this being a continuing danger to both road users and pedestrians? I look forward to hearing from you in due course. Kind regards, 12th December

Path doesn't match map problem, 29th November

Wed, 29 Nov 2023 14:58:31 +0000

email rcvd 28.11.23 - Good afternoon, I tried to call just now to discuss the temporary diversion of footpath HEV2 due to planned construction work, following planning approval to convert agricultural barns, adjacent to the footpath. I have attached a markup of the proposed site plan and some accompanying site photos. The green dashed line denotes the route of HEV2 and the heavy black line, the proposed diverted route. The land either side of both routes form part of the land ownership boundary of our clients'. At some stage we will need to connect foul and storm drainage runs across both tracks into the field to the west, so I expect some sequencing will need to take place. It would be helpful to have a conversation about next steps and timeframes. We look forward to hearing from you.

Rubbish dumped in field blowing into hedges and watercourse, 19th May

Thu, 19 May 2022 09:13:04 +0100
51.972072 -1.673852

Rubbish is repeated dumped in this field. It has been reported countless times but as it is privately owned it seems the council can do nothing. This rubbish has been blowing out of the field and into neighbouring Fields, down the public road, into hedgerows and the stream. This not only looks untidy but poses a threat to wildlife. Surely now something can be done about it?
