Obscured carriageway EX6 8RS, 16th May

Mon, 16 May 2011 11:32:16 +0100
50.624522 -3.470069

On the Mamhead Road at the Butts lane junction next to the Old Toll House (EX6 8RS), one side of the carriageway had been reduced by at least 1 metre in width due to a fir hedge that has been allowed by the property's owner to encrouch on the road. It makes travelling along this section of road hazardous when larger traffic is on coming (namely the Nightfrieght and Coles haulage lorries that use the road very regularly). You have to stop to allow them through or risk colliding. Secondly when pulling out of Butts Lane to turn onto Mamhead Road which I do daily is very tricky as the natural line of vision is considerably impaired. There is a mirror in situ but when it is overgrown or misted up it's useless to use a as visual guide. I have had several near misses in recent weeks when trying to negotiate this junction. Please could you look into this matter for me as it is causing quite a concern.
