Shrine to another biker, 13th May
I understand from local reporting that another fatal accident has taken place on the A377 near Hookway Crediton recently. I live locally and can’t help but notice that this junction is extremely dangerous and this is not the first fatal accident at this spot. However the last fatal accident, not that long ago, the family of the victim have seen fit to turn it into what can only be described as a shrine. We have the bikers helmet displayed and it’s still there on a stand, photos of him endless flowers, flashing lights solar lights, Christmas lights and a Christmas tree. Artefacts come and go with regularity. Much as I can see the last victim was much loved, all this paraphernalia only acts as a distraction to what is a well-known dangerous junction. Flashing lights and all sorts of large and very visible items mean that as a driver you can’t help but look at this display. The family were tending to this area just a couple of hours before the latest accident. It is in my opinion necessary that the authorities really need to remove this ever-growing distraction before there is a line of bike helmets. Road junctions are not a suitable place to mourn people who have died for the very reason that they potentially cause more heartbreak for the next family.
For the sake of every biker and car driver on the stretch of road please remove this very obvious problem as quickly as possible and as a matter of urgency

Grass verge between smallbrook and dunscombe is overgrown. it is dangerous to walk along the mainroad towards crediton, 8th June
Grass verges need to be cut ,so walkers can use them instead of the road

Large pothole on busy main road, 7th February
This pothole has become a problem in the past couple of weeks as it has both widened and deepened. Causes a considerable jolt for vehicles unable to avoid it.

Cats eyes missing, but holes not filled., 14th May
Just on the Crediton side of the Quikes farm entrance, several holes in road where cats eyes have been removed. Dangerous for overtaking bikes.

Excessive mud on road, 13th November
This whole 400m stretch of road is covered in a thick hardened layer of mud from local farm vehicles which was never cleaned up, with the current weather the road has become dangerously slippy. There were at least 2 RTC's last night as people skidded on approach to the road works on this stretch of road. It needs sweeping urgently. I would fine the farmer too for not taking responsibility in the first place.

Court Orchard, Newton St Cyres, Devon. The entrance road to this small estate of dwellings for the elderly is breaking up over a fairly large area.

Road uneven over bridge, 16th May
The tarmac which goes over the bridge is full of grooves and very uneven there has been 2 motorcylce accidents to my knowledge it is very very dangerouse for motorcycles i nearly hit the bridge on my bike it needs sorting now its been like it for a while.

Road breaking up around manhole cover., 7th April
A377 Newton St Cyres approx 50 yards north of West Town road junction. Road breaking up round manhole cover exposing sharp metal edges. Water appears to be running from pothole. Work was done at this site within the past 3 months, apparently to no effect.

Mud on the road, 25th July
During recent heavy rainfall, an excessive amount of earth from an adjacient field has been washed onto the road. This has now dried into ridges of dried mud ridges 100mm high. This consitutes a danger to small cars, bicycles and motorcycles.
