FIXMYSTREET IN EX24 6JE
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of EX24 6JE:
Cars parking on junction, blacking visibility, 26th July
This junction has a peculiar tarmac extension to the north which, although clearly painted with junction markings, is regularly used as a layby for parking. Presumably these are walkers on the nearby bridle paths, as the cars are often left there unoccupied for hours at a time. It is not uncommon to see two or even three cars squeezed in here.
Vehicles parked here seriously reduce the visibility when turning out from the lane past Lovehayne Farm onto Seaton Road - cars from the right (north) are coming down the hill at speed and can be completely obscured by parked vehicles. This is a safety issue.
Please review this junction, at the very least it needs signage to re-inforce that the 'layby' area is part of the junction and to prohibit parking there, ideally it needs the tarmac 'layby' removed or significantly narrowed to prevent parking. The current road markings are clearly not a deterrent.
