Sunken utilities trench, 30th October
Sunken openreach utilities trench causing rainfall and run off to channel directly in to two houses either side of trench. Houses sit lower than road and receive a significant amount of water runoff from the trench causing flooding. Street drainage is ineffective as runoff is diverted by sunken trench prior to entry points.

Littering/Fly-Tipping - No Public Bins, 29th March
Dear National Highways,
I am writing to you about the A35 lay-by located at ‘What3Words’ location ‘cured.deadline.ventures’, after being directed to you by East Devon District Council.
There has been a litter problem at this location for several years which is becoming increasingly difficult to manage, due to a lack of litter bins in the lay-bys. Currently, there are car parts (exhaust pipes, used tyres, bags) on the public areas of land. To-date, we have also had to pay for 2 skips to dispose of rubbish which has been littered/fly-tipped in to private land (the field running parallel to the lay-by). We have recently had our hedges cut and, in the process, have had to fill another 100 bin bags full of uncovered litter; including hazardous human waste such as containers of urine, excrement, nappies and bags filled with vomit etc.
I do have animals living on this land and I am also extremely concerned for their welfare, being unintentionally exposed to this type of waste, as well as trespassers.
As a proposed solution, I would like to ask National Highways to please install litter bins in this location. The lay-bys have clearly been purposefully put there for drivers to stop and, therefore, are typical areas for people to need to dispose of waste. I strongly believe that, if the correct facilities (litter bins) were provided, the majority of people would use these.

Pothole again after being repaired, 28th March
The potholes that was repaired I think 5 days ago has reappeared. . Maybe use tarmac and not garden soil to fill the holes ?!?!

Flooding on the A35 where the junction of the Hill meets the A35 EX137RY, 12th January
This has been reported on Devon County council but it seems it is a highways problem There is a huge amount of water on the road due to blocked drains either side of the junction. Hope someone can inspect it soon as it is 50mph in that section

Crater developing in road surface, 2nd January
A crater is developing in the road surface which I hit last night while driving towards Honiton.
I lost count how many potholes I either hit or narrowly avoided in both directions on the A35 in the dark last night. I suggest you send one of those camera road surface survey vehicles from Honiton to Dorchester in both directions. Other people are reporting damage to their vehicles on this stretch of the A35.

Large deep sharp edges pothole, 30th December
A large pothole on the Honiton bound carriageway. Caused damage to my vehicle/front passenger side wheel/tyre/suspension. No warnings nothing to help avoid. Completely invisible on the wet dark road.

Everywhere says this road is not their responsibility! DCC says not them and National Agency. It's getting bigger and bigger. Where B3621 meets A35 if you're turning in the direction of Honiton.

Pavement surface in very poor condition, 13th June
The condition of the pavement from the position shown down to the turning for Axminster is in very poor condition mostly caused by a repair by a utility company. This pavement is used by both a local electric wheelchair user and a mobility scooter user who I have seen both struggling with the uneven surface right next to the road.

Two Tyres and carton of Ad Blue Flytipping in A35 Layby, 1st February
Local volunteer litter pickers have reported two tyres and a carton of AdBlue has been fltipped about two thirds along the A35 layby from the Axminster direction. They cleared 3 bags of otherdisgusting litter from the layby and along the verge. The layby is being used as a human toilet!!!! with used toilet paper, human excrement and dog poo. Can we request that more signage to deter this is installed and that litter bins are installed. Can you please advise if this is possible?
