Cobble Street is uneven and dangerous., 7th January
Back street has been like this for many years. I am recovering from a broken ankle and initially could not walk up it with a Zimmer frame. It is sloppy and I am still fearful I may have a trip or a slip.

Fly tipping at the edge of the field, 23rd March
This has been there for one day. It has been moved directly from the street to the field. It was taken out of the house directly opposite where it is now situated. So you may be able to find out who has had a refurb in the main street.

Public right of way blocked with trees. Running alongside the race track there are trees blocking the public right of way. Go past Crows house. There is a stye, follow this, on the left there is a sign for gore burn and the trees are down there.

I would like to put complain about dunelm place the street lighting since u have changed the lighting on the lamp posts it is so dark on a night you cant c the paths when u want to step of the pavement lot of complains dangerous u have reduced the lighting bulbs can u please do something about it thank you would like a reply back

Pot Hole/pavement lifting, 5th June
Two issues-: 1. A contractor was employed, by Durham CC, to tarmac the pavements where holes were dug for Northumbria Water. The contractor was called back to flatten the tarmac directly outside the gates of the 9 Quilstyle Road property (as it was not done properly the first time). The contractor left an incomplete mobile number so I could not call them out to rectify the issue. The pavement is causing damage to both our cars as is raised above the level of our drive. If someone could come and look at the issue/fix the area, it would be greatly appreciated. 2) There is a pot hole outside 9 and 9a Quilstyle

Fly tipping, 5th June
Hi,
While walking down the path between Wheatley Hill and Thornley (at the end of Quilstlye Road, past football ground) there is a large load of flytipping including couches, car seats, glass, clothes etc. There is an address in the rubbish from Church Street in Wheatley Hill. To get to it you have to walk past the football field on your left, past the allotments, keep walking until you reach the pathway t-junction near the pylons (where the old pit heap used to be). It has been there for a couple of weeks and is a disgrace - there is a perfectly good tip locally. The whole area leading to this flytip could also do with litterpicking.

Pot holes and not enough parking, 20th September
At the top of dene avenue there is many pot holes and not a very good track of road which no one seems to know who it belongs to. now the winter is fast apprpoaching and this road usually has about 7 to 9 inches of solid ice it never gets gritted and its about time someone took responsibility for this road , also dene avenue itself does not have ample parking and there is no where else to park its a total nightmare and with the growing population there is more cars than ever, my neighbour has three and take up all the parking out side i put mine on a drive but i usually get stuck in by other vehicles this whole road needs sorting thanks you

Motorbikes, 21st August
Motorbikes drive up and down the public footpath next to the Football Ground at the top of Quilstyle Road. The footpath runs from the top of Quilstyle Road through to Thornley. The motorbikes constantly race up and down the path, mostly on an evening. I very much doubt any will have helmets, CBT etc.

Cain Terrace - horses/vandalism/fires, 21st August
Under the Master Regeneration Plan Key Decision R&ED/07/10 for Cain Terrace, Wheatley Hill, most of the street has been demolished. However, some houses (vacant) remain standing and are subject to vandalism through theft and fire. There are also several horses in the area - one of which was in the middle of the road. The whole street is an eyesore and, according to the Council's Project Plan, demolition work is way behind schedule as it was supposed to be on Thursday 12th August 2010. A greater police/street warden presence needs to be in Cain Terrace, combined with the removal of litter and an update to all relevant residents of Wheatley Hill regarding demolition. Residents have put up with this for 2 years yet still pay in excess of £140 each month for Council Tax. A prompt reply addressing the issues would be greatly appreciated.

Litter, horses, dog fouling, broken access gate on Football Ground (Wheatley Hill), 21st August
I use the Football Ground, amongst other sites, as a recreation area for my 6 year old nephew. I recently visited the site to see that the lock had been broken from the gate and two horses were placed on the field. One horse unfortunately had a branch tied to it's tail and looked in discomfort. Near the football goals was a large amount of litter and dog fouling. Local youths often congregate here to drink and evidence of this was strewn everywhere. We don't have many places to play for children and this ground is a disgrace. Further down the fence is a public access point so I assume it is a public recreation area belonging to the Council.
