Huge amounts of litter and debris, 26th February
The A1 is the most squalid I think I have ever seen it!
This is on your litter strategy; 'A network predominantly free from litter, without compromising safety and delivered affordably'
Can you tell me how you are delivering a network predominantly free from litter when you don't clear it up anymore???
With regards to safety; you litter pick the A19 with zero hard shoulder and individuals from traffic management vehicles, but you can't do the same on the A1? Why do it so differently there but get such great results - yet the A1 is thick with dumped waste, thrown waste from cars and tons of stuff off the back of vans and trucks.
You are also running a campaign about the impact on wildlife - but that is not going to pick up the litter is it? So the impact of the neglect from highways must be greater!
What date is the A1 north and south being picked around here? Washington services is disgusting, never seen the road so bad after the slip lane leaving the services - that you are responsible for.

Fully van load of rubbish dumped along hard shoulder, 12th February
I think this might be the result of an accident, however for about 50m there are dozens of black bags, packaging and all sorts of rubbish that has been dumped along the hard shoulder southbound between CLS and DUrham. There are skid marks on the road so I'm not sure, it is just spread a long way along. It is truly appalling amount of waste.

Dumping in back yard, 27th January
Dumping of rubbish, food, clothes and other materials in the back yard of 48. Identifiable information from another house in the street.
Most of the rubbish has been collected and put in the bins of 48. Some still remains.
Issue ongoing for approx 2 weeks now.

Potholes on A1 northbound, 3rd November
There are 3 or 4 potholes forming in the area I've marked on the map (A1 northbound carriage, left hand side of the left hand lane) My car bumped over all of them around 1 second apart today, and has done a few times in the last couple of months.

Grass has been cut in the central reservation but no litter picked for over 10 months., 28th June
No litter has been picked down the central reservation along the A1 here, however as it hasn't been litter picked for nearly a year, the central reservation is now strewn with shards of litter, plastic, cones etc.
A lot of it was blowing around the highway the morning after they had done it.
Grass is cut twice a year and litter picked 4 times a year according to conversations I have had with you - however since this stretch has not been done since last July, having cut the grass it now looks awful. I am assuming you'll be doing three litter picks in the next 4 weeks into July to make up the 3 you have missed? Please confirm when you'll be litter picking as all of this is causing a hazard plus polluting the watercourses.

Coming around the corner you are confronted by dip in the road - safety issue, 5th June
As you come around the corner heading towards Fence Houses there is a significant area in the road where the road surface is uneven in approximately three/four places. Not exactly a pot hole just uneven surface due to previous road repairs, causing cars to either brake suddenly or bump up and down

Unsafe junction, 13th March
With the back road closed, turning right at the junction of black boy road and front street B1284 is impossible to do safely without edging right out. One of the houses on the junction has added a shed to their front garden which completely obstructs being able to see oncoming traffic when turning right.

Staff from LWC parking nose to nose & deliveries blocking the street, 1st September
It is unsafe trying to exit from Greenmount onto Mulberry way due to staff from LWC parking nose to nose on both sides of the road then large lorries making deliveries/pickup from the site completely obscuring access and view to safely exit. Lorries and cars parked righ upto and over the junction from Greenmount onto Mulberry Way

Missing reflectors and bollard on central reservation., 23rd February
On south view terrace, there are cars parked in the run up to the central reservation, and the colourful signs, bollard and associated reflectors are missing from the extremely high curbed area in the middle of the road. This combined with a large black metal frame in the road, which I moved, after narrowly avoiding it, but in the darkness missjudging the unmarked central reservation for the safer route and severely damaging the underside and functionality of my car. After pulling into the near by garage and walking back to examine the situation, a car that had moved out side the exact same thing. It needs to be addressed asap, it has I'm confident given the extreme mechanical and structural failure I experienced on the way home, written off a car I bought yesterday.

Fallen Tree and repeat complaint, 29th January
A tree has fallen, fortunately away from properties, outside 48 and 53 Moorsfield. We have previously complained about the risk of a tree falling outside 52 Moorsfield which is adjacent to the fallen tree. The height, age, and slope the trees are on could cause it to fall on properties
