Lack of lane guidance, 25th February
On the A690 from Durham, approaching the Herrington Interchange, local knowledge is that to continue straight on into Sunderland on the A690 it is necessary to take the outside lane. However, for drivers not familiar with this road, there are no signs to indicate this. Also, the road markings indicate the inside lane is suitable to go straight on the A690. However, once the road begins to bear left, the road markings change to indicate this lane is for the A19 slip road. This results in drivers having to make a quick, potentially dangerous, lane change just before the traffic lights. Signs on the interchande approach advising inside lane for A19 North and outside lane for A690 Sunderland and Doxford Business Park would resolve this problem.

Unreasonable parking, 28th January
The oppisite street has very limited off street parking. This particular household has 3 cars and often parks on out street but often parks Unreasonabley and dangerously close to other vehicles. There was a massive gap infront and video footage shows he literally reversed and then left his car. My car has been damaged at least twice and unfortunately the camera wasnt working. I have had enough of this.

Street lights not working, 18th January
The pathway from newbottle primary academy school heading towards Staddon Way, Newbottle has street lights but they are never turned on. The lights were erected a few years ago. This makes it very dark especially in the winter for children leaving school and for dog walkers. There is also a new estate beside this pathway which must make it unsafe for them too. Please turn these lights on!!

Vision blocked by very high weed growth, 28th May
Outside the entrance to the park, on the road of West Park, there is a point to stop and give way to oncoming traffic. The cars travelling up the incline have right of way. The weeds beside the park wall are currently so tall, that with the angle of the road, it is difficult to see if there are actually any vehicles, coming up the road. They block your vision to the right.

Lots of household rubbish, 27th March
There is an awful lot of household rubbish around the streets of The Crescent, Wright Terrace, Nunn Street and Maple Terrace.
There is a mix of cans, bottles and other general rubbish, but also chairs, fridge freezers and bigger items left at the sides of the roads. It is making the area look an absolute mess.

Full width pothole heading from Philadelphia to grasswell, 23rd March
I reported this before and nothing done. Full width pothole in southbound carriageway as you travel from Philadelphia to Grasswell. Pulls at the wheel of the car when travelling over it. Absolute disgrace.

Parking on oublic footpaths, 11th March
There has been an issue here since the estate was built people parking over and on the footpath meaning people have to walk on the road., It effects me immensely as I have a disability and it means I have to walk on the road. I fall over to the side and last week I had to walk on the road as I couldnt walk on the footpaths for cars parking on the public footpath. Can you offer any assistance please? Ther has been accidents people parking on blind bends across the whole of the footpaths its is causing arguments between residents people parking on the humps in the road which has chevrons people parking on my garden etc? what can be done here?

Grit bin lid missing, 26th February
The grit bin at the junction of Barnwell view & chislehurst Road is missing its lid this is allowing rainwater to collect & stand on the grit so it will not be usable/as effective when needed.
