Litter and rubbish north and southbound on A1 from Washington to DUrham, 21st January
Huge build up of litter along both carriageways and central reservation that hasn't been cleared for months. Undergrowth has died back so now is the time to sort it out! Trees and bushes thick with plastic, it is gruesome. I remind Highways of their service level agreement to the government - to keep the highways predominantly clearly of litter. It is appalling!!

Double parking, 4th January
The white car belongs to a neighbour and she regularily double parks and blocks other vehicles in. Today it is my vehicle. She lives at lumley terrace. This has been ongoing for the 3 years I have lived here and she has been blocking me in for a few hours today.

Building an sos area emergency refuge area built, 28th May
Because this current SOS emergency refuge area is old and broken I would build a SOS area not for a smart motorway so there a space to get to the phone and a path to get to the phone. plus its very dangerous if you get out your vehicle people are speeding so its just a test if it would work, pass this idea on and see if it works,

Dead/injured domestic cat on hard shoulder, 30th January
Hello, I drove between Jnct 62 Durham and Jnct 63 Chester-le-Street northbound about an hour ago (8.30am 30.1.23) and there was an injured/deceased black domestic cat on the hard shoulder which had either been hit by a car or thrown from car window. Unfortunately I spotted it too late to be able to stop safely. The local police and RSPCA were not able to assist at this time. Would it be possible for an inspector to check that area if they are in the vicinity as the cat may have a microchip. I can't be sure of the exact location but it was more towards the Chester-le-Street junction, and I think somewhere just along from the field of Herdwick sheep! Many thanks.

Litter not removed for months, 3rd October
Litter here from CLS to Durham in both directions been building up for months. Never picked before or after the grass cut. Duvets, buckets, ride on cars plus all the usual mess, rubble sacks, ikea bags.....Not sure why it hasn't been picked for months - missed all the summer long days.

Litter and debris all along the A1 from C-L-S to Durham, 1st September
The grass has been cut but no litter picked. I don't know why they don't happen at the same time tbh. Seems obvious to do? Grass cut, litter is worse than I've see it for months! When is it being picked? All way between Washington services and DUrham on both sides.

Traffic light sign, 8th August
The traffic light sign is put infront of 2 driveways . When lights are on red the traffic will be blocking both driveways .. my husband will be pulling trailer and if the drive is blocked he won't be able to get onto drive this will cause total blockage on road !! Surely common sense is ruled out !!!

Traffic Light signal not working, 11th October
There is a set of lights approaching Shields Road from the A1 north slip road (I think the sticker said O1 or Q1 on it) are not working. The rest of the signals are but the one for those at the front of the queue coming from the underpass cannot always see when the signal changes.

Cars parking right on junction, 15th June
Cars are parking millimeters from tge junction causing poor visibility and accidents. You have to pull out in to the middle of the main road before you can even see if a car is coming.
