Slippery footpath, 6th March
The footpath between the park & ride and cemetery (South Street) is covered in wet decaying leaves. This has created a slippery surface and today I slipped over because of it and grazed my leg. Please can the pavement be cleared, to ensure that no one else falls foul of this.

Sand on road, 10th October
Someone has spilled a quantity of sand on the road between the Durham School corner and the drive to the tennis club. It has been there a few days now, on the westbound side of the road. I think it could be hazardous for cyclists as there is sufficient sand that it makes a loose surface on the road. It could also lead to a car skidding, though the normal route a car would take is free of sand because it has been displaced by the cars driving through.

Very poor resurfacing work on Clay Lane footpath, 17th May
Two men were resurfacing parts of the footpath section of Clay Lane this morning. I am sorry to say that the work has been done very shoddily. The path is patchy and uneven, and the new surface is already breaking up in places. There is a lot of loose gravel where the surface has not been properly finished off. I consider that the path is in a worse state than it was before they started the work.

Large pothole near lamp post 282, Quarryheads Lane, 29th March
There is a very large pothole not far from the kerb by lamp-post 282 on Quarryheads Lane. It is within the parking spaces, but when these are clear it is common for people to cycle at this distance from the edge, and if you hit this pothole you'd be highly likely to get thrown off your bike.
It has suddenly grown to about a foot wide and a couple of inches deep.
This is a recurrent pothole: it gets repaired every year or two. Can you do a proper job and seal it, please, rather than slapping rough tarmac in it?
There are also a few potholes developing on the east-bound side of the road, particularly outside no. 12 and no. 13.

Mud and decaying leaves on pavement, 20th December
The pavement on the west side of Margery Lane in between Clay Lane and Blind Lane has been covered in leaves for a couple of months and is now extremely unpleasant to walk on. Also the stretch of path which turns the corner into Clay Lane is very muddy. There is a tarmac surface underneath, but that is completely covered with leaves and mud.

Large tree branch blocking Clay Lane footpath, 16th June
Fallen tree branch (must have come down last night or this morning) blocks the footpath on Clay Lane between the steps to Archery Rise and the track to the tennis club. I have lopped off the very top of the branches so it is possible to walk past, but it is still quite an obstacle and needs someone with a chainsaw to clear it away please! It will still be tricky for anyone with a pram or double buggy to get past.

Potholes, Quarryheads Lane, 1st April
Outside no. 16 Quarryheads Lane on the side travelling towards the New Inn junction there is a pothole which is getting a bit too deep now. It's just by the double-yellow lines and where you hit it if cycling. Gave me quiet a jolt going through it. There is a larger patch just outside no. 17 which, though less deep, could do with filling. Finally, going the opposite way, approaching the roundabout at the bottom of Potters Bank, there is a pronounced groove forming at the edge of a previous trench or repair, and some larger holes. These are not always visible because they are overlapped by parking spaces, but again when that bit of road is available they could be hazardous to cyclists.
