51.001948 -2.508332

On Saturday 15 May 2021, a walker with a MoonWalk group slipped and fell on this stile, which is in very poor condition, and badly injured her arm on the exposed barbed wire, requiring a visit to A&E and stitches. It is noted that the gate is tied shut, despite this being a Restricted Byway. Please would the Footpaths Team and landowner repair the stile and at the very least re-route the barbed wire behind the post and tidy it up.

Sun, 28 Mar 2021 18:41:15 +0100
50.994102 -2.520289

Since road drainage was improved last year, water has emerged continuously from the gully to flood the carriageway outside Holway Hill House and downhill towards the county border with Dorset. During coldest weather the water freezes to present a hazard to all traffic. It is believed that the drain runs north from opposite the telephone exchange to emerge into a natural watercourse.

Fri, 22 Feb 2013 14:48:03 +0000

This has been hit recently, seeming to coincide with cutting of hedge behind it. Damage to finger arms and post now leaning. This is an historic part of the countryside and I would hope that it can be repaired. Given current pressure on budgets, I would suggest making an insurance claim against landowner/contractor.

Pothole due to badger activity, 30th April

Mon, 30 Apr 2012 21:03:18 +0100

At the location, there is a deep, sharp-sided pothole approximately 15" in diameter as a result of a possibly abandoned badger sett. Following recent heavy rain, it would appear that no water collects in the hole, indicating extensive hollows below. For several yards either side of the pothole, the road is very uneven.
