Broken stile and dangerous barbed wire, 1st June
On Saturday 15 May 2021, a walker with a MoonWalk group slipped and fell on this stile, which is in very poor condition, and badly injured her arm on the exposed barbed wire, requiring a visit to A&E and stitches. It is noted that the gate is tied shut, despite this being a Restricted Byway. Please would the Footpaths Team and landowner repair the stile and at the very least re-route the barbed wire behind the post and tidy it up.

Water continuously emerging from gully and flooding road, 28th March
Since road drainage was improved last year, water has emerged continuously from the gully to flood the carriageway outside Holway Hill House and downhill towards the county border with Dorset. During coldest weather the water freezes to present a hazard to all traffic. It is believed that the drain runs north from opposite the telephone exchange to emerge into a natural watercourse.

Cast Iron Finger Post damaged and leaning, 22nd February
This has been hit recently, seeming to coincide with cutting of hedge behind it. Damage to finger arms and post now leaning. This is an historic part of the countryside and I would hope that it can be repaired. Given current pressure on budgets, I would suggest making an insurance claim against landowner/contractor.
