Poor path condition, 12th December
Merchant’s incline is in a very poor condition. Very muddy and slippery underfoot. Dorset council has a responsibility to maintain this path in a safe manner. I can envisage a compensation claim from someone who falls down this very important and well used pathway.
The lower part of the path under the bridge is a complete pool of mud. More aggregate / Rough ballast is needed here to raise the level above the flood level.
The whole Merchant’s incline from Castletown to East Weare Road is in dire need of attention. Please rectify as soon as possible to avoid any possible claims by persons who may slip due to the paths poor maintenance and current poor condition.
