Massive pothole, 19th March
Pothole near centre of highway,been there at least 3 weeks,is where multiple times this winter the road has flooded,so not visible at times,but is clearly visible now but awkward to avoid.Probably 1m by 0.5 m enough to throw a motorcycle over or seriously damage a vehicle wheel.

Flooding on a35 bend around black down, 28th February
Water flooding both carriageways of a35, very deep on eastbound carriageway forcing traffic to travel eastbound on westbound carriageway. Water is run off from waterlogged fields causing the roadside gullies to overtop and flood the road. This is a persistent problem every time with heavy rain. The flood is obscured from approaching traffic in both directions. Locals are aware of this but visitors are not and there is the potential for a serious road traffic collision.

Multiple potholes in both carriageways on a35 between bridport and dorchester, 28th February
With the heavy rain and pood visibility 1many of the potholes, some of them quite large and deep are difficult or impossible to see when filled with rainwater. My car has suffered damage to the suspension after I drove into a large 'invisible' pothole. The car needed immediate repair and was expensive.

Flooding/blocked drain, 9th November
There is an area of road on the A35, near the railings on the school side (Winterbourne Valley First School, DT2 9LW) which regularly floods. This may be due to the drains not being cleared or possibly the maintenance of the road itself, it would require investigation to ascertain the exact cause. The result is that motorists driving through the flood water often drench children on their way to and from school. This is particularly unpleasant for children in the morning as it results in them spending their school day in damp clothing and is not conducive to productive learning or their enjoyment of the school day.

Tree branch fall, 23rd July
Last night a branch of a substantial willow tree fell. Fortunately it has not fallen in the road, but into the adjacent South Winterbourne stream. This is a National Highways issue. In October 2002 a branch from the same tree fell across the road. The tree sub contractors advised Balfour Beattie that the tree was distressed and needed remedial works. Claire Dean of Balfour Beattie (under case reference no. 22423284) advised me that repair works were scheduled - but it never happened.
Clearly this tree needs attention, particularly as much of it overhangs the A35 trunk road and there could be further falls at any time.

Dead trees, 25th June
I live in the village of Winterbourne Steepleton, Dorset, at the edge of the cul-de-sac Hamlands, close to the road by the 30mph sign, there are two dead trees, which may in time be a concern for the road. I'm afraid I do not know which type of tree they are, somebody did mention Elm Thank you
