Nature tree at risk of being felled, 30th June
There is a possibility that a healthy, large, mature, roadside ash tree is to be felled this weekend.
The tree stands approx 30m to the east of the junction of Breach Lane and Church Broughton Road in the hedgerow on the north side of Breach Lane.
A strip of land has recently been purchased by the adjoining property and the new owner has spoken to a neighbour of felling the tree this weekend.
There is concern from a number of people including myself that this tree deserves to be protected.
The ash tree is mature and of good shape offering significant amenity value and enhancement of the street scene.
The owner is building a very large and very tall garage building, which was recently approved after modifications.
The applications was made and approved without identifying the felling of this tree.
If there is anything that can be done to prevent this from happening until the removal has been properly considered and reviewed to confirm it is necessary it would be appreciated.
