FIXMYSTREET IN DE4 2DZ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DE4 2DZ:
Car Parking, 20th February
This is a very dangerous bit of road. Cars park on the side, which they are in their right to do, but as you pass them, there is no way of seeing round the corner if cars are coming on the other side of the road. This is meant to be a 30 mph road, but cars approach must faster. If they did the speed limit, it would not be as dangerous.

Access to our property is often restricted by builders vans associated with the works at Brook House. We have concerns as it is causing problems for visiting carers. There are also concerns that there is no easy access for an ambulance should one be required.

Dangerous holes in the bridge on the Darley Dale to Rowsley cycle path, 25th October
Somebody has placed a large log over the holes in the bridge to urge cyclists using the cycle track to manoeuvre around it but if that log gets moved then there’s just holes that could bring somebody off their bike and cause harm. Even the log being there is dangerous in the dark. I don’t know how long it has been there for as I’ve not used the path in a a few months before today

Missing safety barriers, 18th July
There is a viewpoint at the point marked on the map. For many months the viewpoint has been closed by barriers, presumably for safety reasons. Is the masonry unsafe? Someone has removed the barriers to entry to the viewpoint and dumped them down the hill.

Debris has been left by both sides of the road, most likely from passing motorists, 5th January
Debris has been left at the side of the busy Chesterfield Lane, by Northwood & Tinkersley Bridleway 7, Footpath 8 and Rowsley FP 15. The first photo shows plastic items, probably from a vehilce next to the wall and stone squeeze stile. This is a trip hazard for walkers. The second photoshows shards of a plastic lid on the road verge. This will be rendered into ever smaller fragments and eventually find its way into the river system, causing considerable damage to biodiversity. There is in addition, a fuel tank/exhaust 50m further up on the right hand side. This is a particular H&S issue for horses. My view is that this stretch of highway needs a regular litter/debris/fly tipping clearance.

Blue Renault taken off tow truck and abandoned since August, 14th December
Reg: FY55NXW Saw a man taking this vehicle off a tow truck in August-time and he pushed it into this space at the bottom of Dungreave Avenue. I’m 99% sure the car hasn’t been moved since and had the driver-side window cracked open for the first couple months, even throughout the floods. People have taken to writing “move this car” in the dirt on the vehicle as the area has more cars than spaces to park them. People are being forced to park their cars dangerously against the wall, blocking big vehicles from passing through, or park in the Matlock Transport car park across the road.
With the amount of car parking spaces needed and the amount we actually have, a car left abandoned in this spot has become an annoyance.

Car bumper has been left by the side of the road, 19th April
The car bumper is on Chesterfield Lane, at the point where the bridleway and footpath head south. It is beside the stone wall, next to the stile and BW signpost. It is a trip hazard for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. This section of road from Rowsley up past Fallinge Edge seems to have frequent accidents. Traffic calming measures would be beneficial.

A large stone from the adjacent roadside wall is in danger of toppling onto the highway, 27th December
This is an issue of a large stone precariously balanced just off the highway, just above the 'pinch point' on the Chesterfield Lane coming out of Rowsley. It is, in my view, a Highways matter and the landowner should be asked to make safe the stone wall. It is additionally, also just by the start Rowsley FP 11, which needs its stile repairing. I would make a further comment that more traffic 'calming measures' would benefit all road users.
