Pothole and dangerous raised curb norbury close allestree, 20th April

Sat, 20 Apr 2024 14:19:26 +0100
52.94273 -1.495634

Near the second gateway to Lawn Primary School (first pedestrian gateway) there is a pothole on the side of the road, and it is getting bigger and bigger. Alongside the pothole is a raised curb edge that needs lowering as it is a trip hazard. This has been ongoing for quite some time and I have noticed recently that the rain we've had is worsening the problem very quickly. It wouldn't take much for someone to trip over the raised curb or roll an ankle in the pothole - lots of elderly residents in the area as well as, of course, a school full of children.

Recycling bin with old carpets dumped, 14th April

Sun, 14 Apr 2024 18:51:46 +0100
52.922323 -1.494197

This is the bin that i reported a few weeks ago alomg with several other bins filled with old carpets. It was originally up near the bridge near the junction of Dlack Lane but its made its way down to the corner of Granville Street now. I saw the Street Pride car only a couple of days ago turn out of Junction Street and down towards Ashbourne Road so they went past it as have at least 3 weeks worth of bin men and just ignored it.

Dangerous Temporary Traffic Lights, 11th April

Thu, 11 Apr 2024 08:23:11 +0100
52.926216 -1.465131

Temporary Traffic Lights only control 2 road movements Stores Road and Nottingham Road) and not the third coming from Sir Frank Whittle Road. Causing the situation where cars with a green light travelling from Nottingham Road onto Stores Road have potential for head on collision with traffic turning from Sir Frank Whittle towards Nottingham Road, against the red light on Stores Road, as it reduces to a single lane and there is no clear visibility between the 3 potential movements.

3 fridge freezers dumped on pavement at Baker Metals for over a week, 8th April

Mon, 08 Apr 2024 08:32:23 +0100
52.920743 -1.494551

These have been here for over a week now and the scrapyard obviously has no intention of taking them in which is understandable as they arent geared up for that type of recycling. Baker Metals should be told to put a clear sign stating the items they will not accept to deter dumping of things they cant recycle and just get left cluttering the pavement like this. Maybe a leaflet drop in the California area to tell people whete and how they can dispose of items?? Get extra bins etc. Simple stuff.

Large pothole, 4th April

Thu, 04 Apr 2024 12:47:14 +0100
52.92171 -1.469569

There is a large pothole at the junction with the bus stop and car park entrance from the main road. It is causing cars to swerve out of the way and will cause an accident if not repaired soon. I can see this has already been reported over a month ago and not repaired. I have had my tracking done and don’t want my car to be damaged if I go into this hole.

Fri, 22 Mar 2024 16:34:04 +0000
52.92199 -1.494786

This bin is still here after i reported it earlier in the week, even though the bin lorry came round Tuesday they just ignored it and left it where it was . The pile of old carpets is atill at the bottom of Junction Street as well. Given the article in the paper about targeting Abbey Ward and other areas due to flytipping i would have thought these issues im reporting and have reported would have been cleared by now.

Lack of traffic calming on unclassified street, 18th March

Mon, 18 Mar 2024 10:20:06 +0000
52.912363 -1.479302

Moore Street is a narrow 'unclassified road' meant for light residential traffic but has become a rat run for high volumes of traffic and speeding motorists between Normanton Road and Mill Hill lane due to changes in road layout, parking restrictions and traffic calming measures introduced in other streets. The accident pictured illustrates the dangers this poses to residents and their vehicles. This incident occurred on a Sunday afternoon, 17th March 2024. At the very least traffic calming measures should introduced to mitigate this risk. Ideally a cut-de-sac would be created just past the junction with Upper Bainbrigge Street, preventing access to 38 Moore Street onwards from Normanton Road. This would separate the primarily residential part of the street from the mixed retail and commercial part closer to Normanton Road. It would also contribute considerably to reducing emissions in the area.
