FIXMYSTREET IN DL8 5LY
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DL8 5LY:
Side of bridge falling, 7th February
The photo is the best I could get, however it doesn't do the issue justice at all.
Structurally the side of the bridge is compromised and is rapidly getting worse every day.
The side collapsed about ten years ago and its repeating but seemingly at a larger scale.
Huge lorries use it multiple times a day, which is recent and really it inappropriate for the size of the bridge. It needs urgent attention before it collapse and becomes a real problem.

Bad potholes and skid resistance value, 24th March
Further to an earlier report, the potholes along this section of road are bad, one has caused damage to a tyre on my car and I understand that at least another two cars have had wheels damaged recently. Also, in a number of areas between the bridge at Harmby and Akebar I doubt that the road meets the minimum value for skid resistance. I do question why roads in Northallerton and Ripon have been resurfaced when a higher speed used by goods vehicles etc is left to become a danger.

Road in dangerous state of repair, 10th March
The A684 between Akebar park and Cunstable Burton is in a terrble state of disrepair. There are large, deep pot holes and ruts at the side of road where water has washed it away. It is only a matter of time before it causes an accident such is the scale of the damage at the side of road which being narrow you are forced into when trucks etc are coming in the other direction at high speed. As a buinsess owner, I am also concerned that this road is crucial for tourists, and any repairs need to be done before end of lockdown ends and tourism goes mad. Closure of this road then would cause total chaos.
