The photo is the best I could get, however it doesn't do the issue justice at all.
Structurally the side of the bridge is compromised and is rapidly getting worse every day.
The side collapsed about ten years ago and its repeating but seemingly at a larger scale.
Huge lorries use it multiple times a day, which is recent and really it inappropriate for the size of the bridge. It needs urgent attention before it collapse and becomes a real problem.

Pothole, 14th June
This pothole has to be avoided on a cycle and is positioned where sometimes a line of parked cars on the opposite side of the road causes the road to be narrowed at this point so oncoming traffic can be a hazard.

Line of potholes across the road under the railway bridge, 14th June
This line of fairly small potholes under the rail bridge on the road south of Newton-le-Willows is difficult to avoid and is difficult to see in the shadow of the bridge this makes cyclists swerve into or beyond the centreline of the road to avoid incurring a "pinch flat" puncture. The road is narrow and approaching traffic is not visible till the last minute due to a bend. Hence avoiding this obstruction by veering over the centreline is not a safe manoeuvre.

Political Sign erected on Road Verge, 19th April
A large sign for a political party has been erected on the verge at the crossroads, which has seen numerous accidents over the years. Surely this is a distraction to motorists and increases the chance of an accident by somebody looking at the sign and not concentrating?

Silting up of stream/bridge, 23rd March
I have been onto the waterways but they say it's your responsibility! The bridge is silted up badly, especially the side arches, so as you can imagine when the stream is swollen it can't flow quickly enough, thus causing flooding. It could do with being cleaned out so water can flow through all three arches of the bridge.

Drain cover tipped, 5th March
A round drain cover has tipped and is in a dangerous state, if a car hits this i think a wheel will go down the hole. Tthe location is between first house and laurel cottage.

Possible drainage problem, 28th May
In the gate way to this property (DalesEnd)I think there may be a drain which leads into the stream. When we have sudden heavy rain this whole area fills up very quickly, I believe the drain is blocked so the water can't drain away. A drain on the actual road (A684) closeby does tend to cope with the majority of rain water but during very heavy rain it struggles. There is a possibility of flooding to the properties opposite, we have been lucky so far but one of these days our luck will run out. It's very worrying.
