FIXMYSTREET IN DL14 9HH
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DL14 9HH:
This through road is a public right of way, used daily by 100's vehicles and foot traffic, 9th March
As you can see in the photo's this road is in serious need of repair. It has lots of foot traffic everyday including pensioners, ladies with babies in pushchairs, school children, as well as huge 32 tonne bin lorries, delivery vehicles, cars etc... but the Durham County Council response to my concerns, (especially as the road has NO footpath) was as follows... " An investigation has been carried out and the road is NOT considered hazardous, dangerous, or in need of essential maintenance. I would say, they are turning a blind eye and as the photo's show it is desperately in need of repair.

On going fly-tipping, 18th February
I am now reaching the end of tether of the constant rubbish coming from Musgrave Farm. It seems that the resident of the caravan just dumps his rubbish over the fence or outside his caravan. There are rats feeding off of the rubbish.

Overgrown trees/shrubs blocking public footpath, 21st August
The footpath entrance on the right as you enter Bainbridge Court from Challenor Way is becoming increasing overgrown with shubs and trees forcing pedestrians to walk on the road. It looks like it has not been maintained for a long time. Also, when leaving Bainbridge court by car, the hedge on the left(part of house in Challenor Way) is blocking visibility to oncoming traffic and is getting dangerous.

Traffic Lights, 23rd May
There is a problem with the traffic lights at the junction of Greenfields Road/Dilks Street/Staindrop Road at Tindale Cresent.
When wanting to turn right into Greenfields Lane whilst approaching the traffic lights travelling west (towards the new shopping development) along Staindrop Rd cars regularly get caught in the middle of the traffic lights due to oncomming traffic regularly "jumping the lights".
This would be resolved by having a filter lane/light for the traffic turning into Greenfield Lane/Dilks St.

Faulty drainage causing frequent flooding and road closure, 27th November
The section of the A688 bypass adjacent to the newly-constructed Bishop Auckland football stadium has inadequate drainage and floods whenever there is heavy rain. It is one of the first sections of road to flood in the local area, despite there being no geographical features nearby such as a stream, steep bank or dip that would cause natural flooding. In fact, the bank to the south side of the road drops by a metre or two into the adjacent field. There is a drain in the problem location (next to the traffic island), so the fact that this section floods (and forces the road to be closed) so frequently suggests that the drainage infrastructure is either blocked or incorrectly designed.
