FIXMYSTREET IN DL14 8UL
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DL14 8UL:
House is shaking when busses go passed, 7th November
Every time a bus flies passed our house the house shakes, it’s causing some parts of the walls to develop small cracks, the worst being on the stairs. We bought this house last year and have realised it’s due to the busses passing at speed (usually) and shaking the house. We had the house replastered last year due to the walls being in such a state from the previous owners and they were perfectly fine but they’ve gradually formed cracks.

Tarmac and graffiti, 13th July
We have just had the road resurfaced at the roundabout and the workmen were supposed to take 9 nights to do the job. They did it in 7 and feel they have rushed the last night as there is loads of tarmac left in the car park and it looks a total mess. Graffiti has been painted on the floor and the roundabout hasn’t been properly finished with correct markings. There is also a white arrow which is wrongly been painted on the road leaving the roundabout towards coundon that tells you to return to the 1st lane even though it’s a 2 lane round all the way up to coundon.

Barrier collapsed some months ago, now dangerous again, 16th October
The concrete post and metal rail barrier above the steep embankment down to the River Gaunless at Rosemount Road looks as though it dates from the 20th century and has apparently come to the end of its life. A temporary plastic barrier was installed some months ago but has now collapsed, and another section of the original barrier is now broken.

Pothole in area where locals park cars, 3rd April
The pothole started in the winter before last (so over a year ago). It is in an area where people park their cars so there is activity all day. It is in the middle making it difficult to avoid as the space is narrow each side. So deep on one side that it is like going down a step in the car. Two winters have taken its toll on it. The road has other more minor pot holes also.

Cyclists on footpath., 15th February
DCC Case No FS12894468. This is the 2nd part of an issue I raised yesterday. To safeguard pedestrians' safety a cycle barrier will be also needed at Flambards Ave - otherwise cyclists can simply make a detour and rejoin the footpath.

Cyclists on fpotpaths, 14th February
This public footpath needs a cycle barrier. I am repeatedly alarmed by cyclists riding at speed and narrowly missing me. Whereas I would expect to avoid being killed in a collision I doubt my little dog would survive being run over. I gave up using the disused railway because of the cyclists' lack of consideration. Your footpaths officers have some work to do. It's very unsafe and education won't do it. Footpath, cycleway, they're not interested in the difference. It's been worse since you erected the public footpath sign. Cyclists read it as their right of way. I'm cyclist myself but leave footpaths to pedestrians, oh and I know how to use my bell.
