Footpath problems, 19th August
This is supposed to be the Weardale Way, an important long-distant footpath. It's also part of the Camino Ingles from Durham Cathedral to Escomb. However just after the gate into Broken bank the path fragments into several ill-defined tracks into and through the woods, with a nasty stream crossing at the end. Signage and path clearing is inadequate especially for a path promoted to visitors

Tarmac and graffiti, 13th July
We have just had the road resurfaced at the roundabout and the workmen were supposed to take 9 nights to do the job. They did it in 7 and feel they have rushed the last night as there is loads of tarmac left in the car park and it looks a total mess. Graffiti has been painted on the floor and the roundabout hasn’t been properly finished with correct markings. There is also a white arrow which is wrongly been painted on the road leaving the roundabout towards coundon that tells you to return to the 1st lane even though it’s a 2 lane round all the way up to coundon.

Behind the pizza shop Valentino on Newgate Street in the back lane is a constant mound of black bin bags( open) and piled up rubbish. The issue has been present for many months and i suspect the shop is responsible for filling up other council bins with rubbish/food waste., 21st March
The mound of rubbish always contains food waste which is attracting rats.

Zebra crossing vehicles not stopping or overtaking stationary vehicles, 12th June
Zebra crossing on Cockton Hill Road near junction with McIntyre Tce/Northumberland Av. I use this crossing on a regular basis, the road can be very busy at peak times and find if a bus or large vehicle is near it is danger trying to cross as pedestrians can't be seen. Cars don't stop for pedestrians. When crossing 10 minutes ago a van overtook 3 stationary cars, who had stopped for me and luckily I had reached the other side, just in time!! It is a school crossing as well and the lady who has the job of trying to keep the kids safe has the same problems, traffic doesn't always stop. Perhaps it needs reviewing and a pelican crossing would be safer?!

Cyclists on footpath., 15th February
DCC Case No FS12894468. This is the 2nd part of an issue I raised yesterday. To safeguard pedestrians' safety a cycle barrier will be also needed at Flambards Ave - otherwise cyclists can simply make a detour and rejoin the footpath.

Cyclists on fpotpaths, 14th February
This public footpath needs a cycle barrier. I am repeatedly alarmed by cyclists riding at speed and narrowly missing me. Whereas I would expect to avoid being killed in a collision I doubt my little dog would survive being run over. I gave up using the disused railway because of the cyclists' lack of consideration. Your footpaths officers have some work to do. It's very unsafe and education won't do it. Footpath, cycleway, they're not interested in the difference. It's been worse since you erected the public footpath sign. Cyclists read it as their right of way. I'm cyclist myself but leave footpaths to pedestrians, oh and I know how to use my bell.

Drain problem, 26th August
Were the down pipe meets the path to the left of my front door its supposed to allow the water/rain run off the pavement into the main drain, this does not happen due to the drain run being raised in the middle making it run back over and causing damp all over the inside of me house i have tried cleaning the run to help it flow properly, but because of the middle section not being correctly in place and raised it makes the water/rain gather back up on its self and is causing damp and mold i would like this seen to asap as i have 2 young children one has health issues with week lungs & asthma ive already had part of the inside wall treated because of this problem but this problem is getting worse with the rains
