The A66 from Brough to Kirkby Thor’s is a death trap. How many lives will it claim before action is taken to make it safer. Fatalities seem to be a regular occurrence. We need something now , not till the planned dual carriageway is commenced

Dangerous practices by traffic management company, 25th January

Tue, 25 Jan 2022 12:05:34 +0000
54.544044 -2.399543

Around 2000each day the tm firm put out the signs etc for the overnight works. On Sunday the pickup was parked around the bend while putting a sign out causing traffic to come to a sudden stop. In my opinion these workers/ firms are not RASWA competent. As their is almost always some works happening on the A66 I personally have experienced numerous dangerous incidents like this although it could have been different TM firms. I think that someone should observe they methods and review their risk assessments as their procedures fall far short of the required safety and competence required.

Verge turned up, 18th November

Thu, 18 Nov 2021 17:01:51 +0000
54.532621 -2.393205

Verge constantly getting ridden over by bin men and recycle truck. Already been shortened by council but seems complete waste of money as incompetent drivers apparently find easier to just mount kerb with little regard to mess left behind. Painted rocks not helped as they just drive over them .

New sign A66, 18th June

Fri, 18 Jun 2021 20:43:53 +0100
54.541461 -2.389378

Last week you placed a new road sign on the left hand side of the road opposite walk mill warcop on the A66 stating road improvements at Appleby bypass. In the last week I have had 2 near accidents waiting to turn into my parents house on the opposite side of the road with vehicles looking at the sign and not seeing me indicate, there are 2 right hand junctions opposite the sign one been walk mill and one been the hayber centre that has customers going. This sign is also placed at an accident black spot just before warcop bends. Is this sign permanent ? If so who was responsible for placing it there as it needs looking at before an accident happens. Thank you

Just level with these houses, driving in to the village the side of the road opposite the houses has collapsed and there is a long deep pot hole that will destroy your tyres and wheels and probably suspension if you drive into it. Roadworks/Traffic lights, 30th May

Thu, 30 May 2013 21:31:35 +0100
54.548014 -2.411822

I would like to complain about the temporary traffic lights set up at roadworks on the A66 at what I think was the junction with the B6259. I was travelling eastwards along this road today (30/5/2013) at about 5pm and it took almost 2 hours to get past the three-way lights set up here. I measured the queue westbound at nearly 4 miles, which I believe was very similar to our eastbound one. Thousands of motorists would have been delayed. No-one was working at the site, and I could see no reason why the traffic lights could not have been suspended overnight to remove the obstruction or, considering the disruption this was causing, why the work was not continued for more hours per day to shorten the disruption on such a major trans-pennine route

Martindale view warcop cumbria, 13th April

Mon, 13 Apr 2009 12:33:39 +0100
54.53214621755 -2.39307533906755

The outside of property no 5 and 7 martindale view the paths have sunken down and the housing association is not doing anything to remedy this. The communal gardens on the development are also being allowed to fall in to dis repair and the tennant of number 5 is constantly leaving rubbish out in the front in metal bins and black bin bags that the council refuse to move. I live in the houses opposite and feel this street is bringing down the tone of the whole village.I feel that because the property is owned by a housing association they dont have as much pride in the area as the council does and could do with a reminder to keep their associations in a reasonable state and show some consideration to other housholds.I have tried to get in touch myself but because i am not a tennant od theirs i feel i am not being listend to .i would appreciate if somone in your office could get in touch .thank you
